The thing about driving a C63 (6.2) is that the engine totally dominates the experience. Totally different to a regular C-Class.
I have driven a 6.2 C Class - I'd agree the engine was definitely the appeal of the car but at the end of the day - it remained a C class and a quite underwhelming car.

What I am saying is I think it's over priced for what it is and the same money will get a better and newer car.

They also only came in Matte white or Matte black.

Not sure how people are underwhelmed with this car, at the end of the day it’s a mid size excecytive wagon with a NA 520 bhp V8 for the price of a new Golf GTI, it doesn’t even have high mileage.

The only let down is that it’s a pre facelift with the dated interior.

I have also driven C63s, and I certainly wouldn't call them 'underwhelming'. Each to their own I guess!

The thing about ST4 is that his dislike for all things Mercedes having been banned from the largest UK owners’ site for persistent trolling dominates the experience.

Totally different to a regular poster.

Yup more like 17mpg.

Although I did see 27mpg once after 200 mile motorway trip, which all things considered isn't too bad.

Whilst not a DR520 nor an estate, I recently took ownership of a 507 Coupe.

Clearly still in the honeymoon period, every drive is an event dominated by the engine.

As with most owners, I'll always leave the door open when firing her up on a morning. It's so angry and wakes you right up on a sleepy morning! On the go, I find myself using the paddles more than in any previous cars I've had. The MCT is actually very decent and provides loads of fun.

Some snaps.

27?!?!! Did you drive like a saint?!

Here's my P30 pack wagon, god I love this car. I totally, utterly disagree with st4, from the second you start the car up it's completely different to a standard C-Class.

I lied. It wasn't 27 mpg and it wasn't 200 miles smile

To be fair I was also driving like a saint. The car was 4 up and loaded with luggage.

I've had mine a year now. It's just a standard saloon with decent spec. No ppp or remaps.

Ive found the standard performance adequate so far (Understatement). The car itself really grows on you. Even just pootling about is fun with the torque and noise. Just one of the reasons I bought one over an M3, even although I'd lusted after M3s for years.

Damn close to 27mpg though. I think the best I've ever had was 24.5 or so.

I agree, and I bought the car for the same reason. I wasn't set on one at first, but because I live on the outskirts of London the opportunities for fast driving are few and far between. My attention turned to cars that sound and feel good at low speed, and this certainly does that.

Different car but a Superior Lexus RCF could be had for 5k more and would be 6yrs younger.
A W204 C63 not special? rofl

They are fan flipping tastic.

It's done 74k - hardly a spring chicken. Depending on whether it's had new shocks it could in reality be quite tired feeling.

I don't agree. I also wonder what sort of E63 could be landed for the same money. The E is altogether a better car.

For more or less the same money biggrin

I know what I would buy. Even the interior materials are comparable.

I'm sure the engine dominates. But what happens if the engine lets go? You're left with a £30k paperweight that's worth a stty c class with its guts hanging out.
