MicraShed ticked over 90K miles yesterday, but I imagine that's quite low compared to many on here.

So random question on a hot Wednesday afternoon, but how many miles has your shed done?
'59 Golf is at 217k now (bought at 208k 10 months ago). I'd like to see it to the moon. (average distance)

My 02 CRV has just ticked over 101k. Got it on 92k about 12 months ago.
04 Panda has just gone over 43k, got that on 37k in January.
Pandas are so under-rated.

I've done about 17K in 12 months since buying it.

2001 Lexus LS430 166,800. Done 4000 miles in the 3 months of owning. It did about 80,000 miles in the first 3-4 years of its life. It's actually one of the lowest mileage cars I've owned in the past 5-6 years.

2008 Ford Mondeo 178,000. Think I did about 6,000 in it over 7 months. It was actually collected by its new owner last night. Sold for £230 more than what I paid back in November, but I've probably spent about £300 sorting bits and bobs. So I'm about even which I'm fine about.

123K miles on '57 C4 1.6HDi. Bought for £2K on 60K miles 3 years ago and definitely in shed territory now. It's just passed another MOT, so no excuse to buy another.

07 Megane DCi currently on 92K miles, purchased three years ago with 62k miles for £1200

My replacement fuel pipework and priming bulb arrived today, ordered at 3:00PM yesterday and arrived this morning for a total cost of £22.75

That is the first money I have spent on the car outside of tyres and servicing

2008 Audi A4 Convertible 1.8T 169,800 miles
2004 MG TF 1.8, 87,000 miles (I think)

Both decent cars. I don't see the point in spending heaps but might break the shed budget and go for one of those hybrid Lexus Rx models.

I've been watching HubNut and the crapness of a Chevy Matiz for a Shed appeals. Or maybe a Panda.

I love our Panda, it is probably the most fun car I've driven. I'd have another in a flash. It would probably be my go-to from now on if I'm in need of a cheap runaround.
Bags of room inside surprisingly, very simple to fix, decent to drive, good on fuel. Ideal

I had a Matiz in South Korea for a year.
Totally crap in every way, but I strangely enjoyed it.
Wouldn't start in the rain as water pooled in the electrics. hehe

Not liking rain is another thing it had in common with the mini then:

my first car. like many people's was a mini - a classic one, not the BMW jobbie. I was a poverty stricken teenager and stuff just used to go wrong for fun.

I remember one day driving back from work, the choke knob was a bit wet, put it my nose and it smelt of petrol...thought nothing of it, drove home, it must have been late autumn or winter...all of a sudden the headlights went out. which was a bit scary, then they came back on and all was well. Next morning I popped the bonnet to see if I could understand where the petrol smell was coming from...

I traced it...what had happened is the earthing strap had snapped, so looking to make a circuit, the current had started to go through the choke cable which just happened to be rubbing bare metal to metal with the float chamber on the SU Carburettor. This had worn through the alloy to the point that petrol was just leaking through and tracking back down the choke cable. I still remain amazed I didn't burn to death in that thing, it only needed one spark which was ready and waiting!

popped a new earth strap on, filled the hole with Isopon (P40?) and all was good!

Current E39 535i shed is at just a whisker shy of 140k, 40k of which are mine. Not bad for a £595 unseen eBay buy nearly six years ago.

Other E39 V8 shed (540i Touring) has been stuck at 225k since it blew the header tank two years ago. Still need to get that down here and try to get it fixed.

Big expensive shed (E66 760Li) is at 267k-ish, 7k of which are mine. Did 201k by its first MoT in late '08. I suppose that's more of a bargain barge than a shed.

My £250 pug 106 shed has done nearly 69k now. I've already done nearly 3k in it since January. Spent very little bar some new wipers and two rear tyres (£80 in total!). Its great on fuel and seems mechanically sound.

It needs an MOT and a service (if it passes the MOT)

That'll go as long as you want to keep it. Probably one of the cheapest cars to run there is.

Agreed. Routine servicing and a cam belt change every five years or so and it'll go on and on.

I wasn't expecting much for £250 i'll be honest, there is a little suspension knock starting and i have no idea about the cambelt but i'm guessing as its coming up to 70k it would be an idea to get it changed?

As I understand it a their rust issues are mostly to do with poor body sealing around the rear wheel arches. Mine had a little when I bought it but for £1150 with full history from a garage (I needed a car in a hurry). I put on about 55,000 miles in 3 years. The only issue was a solenoid on the fuel system for about £200 over regular servicing plus wear and tear parts but they were peanuts. About £15 each for rear discs and another £15 for pads - easy DIY.

It's an easy car to work on. I would buy another.
Sounds good. Would prefer an accord but if the price is right then I may well buy it. Checked motorway for a guide price and they’re saying around the £800 mark. But the bodywork isn’t in good nick (not seen rust but lots of scuffs) and there wasn’t an option to adjust for that. The wheels seemed to have what looked like bubbling and rust rather than the arches themselves. The main thing it’s got going is low mileage but get the feeling they’re expecting a lot for it because of that. So they may well want too much for it.
