Long time lurker but new to posting and a big fan of shedding!
I bought a 2004 Citroen C5 Exclusive with the 2l HDI engine. It came with all the options available at the time, hydroactive suspension, factory xenons, leather interior with electric & heated seats, sat-nav, 6 disc CD changer and built-in telephone! 12 months MOT, decent tyres all around. Owner wanted £800 but I haggled him down to a mere £500!
Returns 45mpg and not had to spend any money on it bar a basic oil service and front tyres in the near future.
Great car, really comfy and perfect for the long trips with the family.

Whoever, designed the headlight mounting arrangement for the Corsa needs placed in a barrel and thrown down some stairs.

Jesus that’s an awful design.
You have to partially remove the bumper to get to the 3rd screw if you need to take the headlight out.
Thankfully, I didn’t have to.
Just had to remove the airbox on the drivers side and the fuse box lid on the passenger side.

Bulbs changed, hands cut to shreds and some lovely bruises and blood marks to show for it.

Looks like we have a new shed (admittedly slightly over shed money) in the family. My mum loves Renault Scenics and her current one is seriously ruined, not helped by being the tip/dog car and having a different colour bumper due to a deer interaction.

I saw a very low mileage MK3 DCi on eBay, new cambelt, brakes, 2 owners, 2 keys, original dealer number plates with a buy it now or best offer. Phoned my mum, said she wanted it so I offered £2100 and the seller accepted.

This is why I love sheds, you can just buy a car on a whim when you weren't even looking for one.

Excited to collect it on Friday.

Good news for the CRV - managed to get my code reader working and it showed the fault code finally... p0845 - common code for old Honda Autos. It is a pressure switch at fault, £5 on eBay. Only one I could find!
Fingers crossed it arrives eventually

That will be our next buy for my other half. Ours is used for everything and anything, grandchildren, dogs, tip runs, carrying 3 piece suites, mattresses. Remove the rear seats and it is just a comfortable van, and cost £130 to insure.

She is on her third over the last 12 years or so. The current one is a 2003, one owner, 50k miles car and we paid £1200 for it 5 years ago. It keeps going through the MOT and is now on 120k with no issues. It gets an oil change every year with the mot and that's it apart from brakes which I do myself, and a few budget tyres over the years.

I did replace the rear cross member support brace for the last mot, a common rust failure. A genuine Renault part from our local dealer, that will be £25 please and will be here by 10.00 tomorrow morning. Non genuine were more than that on Ebay. One bolt each side and it was fitted in 10 mins.

We are however playing the cambelt game and will run it until this give up the ghost or it fails an mot badly.

Purchased my 9-3 V6 just over a month ago for £900. It was missing the splitter and under tray.

Took the one of my old 9-3 as it’s the same colour so free repair. Also got new front tyres last week.
Looking a bit better. I do need to sort the splitter better as it came off on the motorway when I was getting a bit excited with the loud pedal.

Service & MOT next week.

Golf shed managed to surprise me with a very cheap insurance quote and ebay have a discount code on so I got some new service bits including 2 bottles of bargain VW 507 spec oil so I guess that means i believe it'll make it to another service after this one.

Picked this up today for less than a grand. Has full history including a recent one and a years MOT.

It's a 1.5 and zips along just fine.

Had seen a few cheap ones knocking about and thought I would give one a go.

Quite impressed! Even the air con works. I also saw one on 180k miles, so hopefuly it
will be pretty reliable for a while yet as it is on 120k.

My mate recently got one.
£850, years mot and reasonable tyres.

Watch the front subframe for rust, his needed changed despite the mot saying it was fine.

Lovely cars though and pulls well through the gears.

Gave the CRV some attention this afternoon briefly, quick wash, polish and put some tyre shine on. Amazing what a difference it makes.
Needs a proper polish with a machine polisher eventually as there are loads of light scratches and rubbing marks from bushes and hedges along the lanes, but it looks tidy enough for 18y/o! Also needs the plastic bumper and trim brightening up a bit, that'll be my next job. First time it's had any proper cosmetic attention since I got it last August.

Yep, he's a happy chap!
I used meguires tyre gel strangely enough. Decided to give it a go and see what happened. Just put a small amount on and then buffed it off after.
Makes a massive difference, looks great

How long does the Meguiars last? The spray I use looks good for a couple of days then it's goooone...

From my very brief research, I believe the aerosol ones are water based and so don't tend to last long at all. (Although some people say the decent ones last a few weeks).
I've found the gel lasts about a week depending on the road conditions and weather etc...
I haven't used it since I've had my CRV, so I can't remember for certain, but I'll be sure to keep an eye on it.
The good thing about the aerosols is that you can reapply faster as they only take a couple of minutes.
I'm going to order some proper bumper restorer as well as I expect the tyre gel will run a bit if we have any rain.
On a car like mine, it's never going to look perfect, so I just want to keep it clean and tidy enough as it's staying for a while.
