Can't say I'm as impressed. Nice photos of that one, but in the flesh they look really underwhelming to me; positively anaemic compared to other 911s. To me, they looked good value when they were £15-20k. Nowadays, people have just got carried away with the Porsche badge.
I'd say people have got carried away with anything air cooled. I personally love the 964, classic looks with more modern and up to date underpinnings. I think the whole backdate thing has helped push prices even higher. I still kick myself for continuing to chuck money at my Beetle instead of bailing on it and buying a £15k 964 rolleyes

I love 964s, but they've certainly come a long way from their lost years with a reputation for leaking oil. Alas the dream of an RS is probably gone for me now, after getting somewhat close to buying a LHD one back in 2012

Although you think for £50k they'd have got it properly machine polished...just look at the bonnet close up...

I think its looks pants - there I said it. I like the e38 but the alpina wheels are too ghastly. I saw a boring silver sport with the standard 18 parallels drive past me today and I thought oh yeah. Surely 4 or 5 grand would get you a very nice 740i SWB sport. Like this -

That is just about a perfect E38 spec and seemingly good value.

It seems 964 C2 stories are not that thin on the ground: I bought a 350Z rather than a C2 that I really wanted around 11 years ago as I couldn't stomach the idea of bumping it up a kerb every night. I promised myself I'd get one as soon as I moved house and got a driveway because the idea of old car values going ballistic was not on anyone's radar. Also to buy the 350Z I sold my E30 M3 for six and half grand IIRC...

But £55k is a lot of money for an admittedly lovely car. Would be a difficult decision between that and a 996 GT3.

That VW Puma looks stunning and from the photos, nicely refreshed. Got to be worth it.

This looks good to me at £6k and I can smell that interior from here!

Really like these. Do you think a flat 4 might fit? The ww engines seem very underwhelming!

It's surprising how cheap Celica GT4s are compared to the other rally homologation cars of the era

It is a VW flat 4 in there, my last air cooled Beetle pushed out around 200bhp. If that's enough you could strap a turbo on it? They're not cheap to build though, then you need a built box and they can be fairly pricey

Oh right!
I was under the impression that the Mexican stuff had very basic mechanicals that were a generation or two earlier than Europe at the same time.
In that case, I can’t really see a downside, apart from supply of bits for the body.
Lovely shape.

I still like these and this one looks very tidy for the price considering it is now 30 years old.

Just been fully restored by ourselves , new sills in and out, fully repainted to a exceptional standard (see pictures), brakes overhauled, fully serviced and lots lots more done.

They were thinking "This will be cool as fk" and also, if they spend any time on 911UK, the dealer is probably best avoided.

If you're going to spend the money, may as well find a 3.2 six-speed.

GMS are still going and have this with only 7000 miles for 15 grand. Where do they find these unused cars?

I can't remember whether the standard ST185 was the homologation job or the wide body Carlos Sainz version? I think the Carlos Sainz versions have shot up - still not Integrale money but a lot more than they were.

I do remember the quad lamp ST205 coming with the spoiler extensions in the boot, a la Alfa 155, and being a bit of a rocket ship at the time.
