Excellent Always said it would’ve made a great article for EVO to cover the Ascona/Manta 400 road and comp cars

Cheapest way to run a proper luxury car...
FFRR Vogue, circa 2015 with 40k on the clock-loads for £40k approved used with 2 year warranty and roadside assist. Not sure how much it costs to extend (a grand perhaps?) but if you can, you can run a genuine luxury car for 3 years for something like £15k.
That's got to be peak barge has it not?

Just been through the exercise, the number arrived at was more than £15k and £15k is a truckload to spend at any rate. Certainly not peak barging vs the usual suspects.
Interested in seeing your number in that case? I figured it'd be worth circa £25k at the end.OK, I get the semantics on what constitutes a "bargain" but a proper, nudging six figures luxury car that's easily under 5 years old and a current model for £5k per annum?

It's, as ever, horses for courses. I have a pathological hatred of depreciation. It means I miss certain opportunities but that's OK.
Let’s not let anything as trivial as running costs get in the way of things eh?!
I dunno, 3 years down the line with another 25k on the clock, £25k feels about right to me. You could probably drop another £5k to get out easy by part exchanging I guess.
As much as circa £15k is to lose on a car I still think it’s a metric st ton of car for the money. It’s about the same as what a Type-R has cost me for the sane amount of time.

Not sure if that's serious or not? Depreciation is by far the biggest number. You're more optimistic than the manufacturer on that front. The problem with predicted residuals by the manufacturers is that it’s all stacked so the finance company loses as little as possible should the market crash again. Or so I’ve thought anyway.
More often than not, any “predicted future value” bares absolutely no relation to what the current market shows.

Have you added in the cost of an extended warranty? You're a braver man than me thinking about running a JLR product outside of the warranty periodI dunno, 3 years down the line with another 25k on the clock, £25k feels about right to me. Can you still book infield parking with PCGB? I've booked my car in to park there already, but someone I know has missed it. Which reminds me, i need to renew my membership...
Mr Stott are you up for this?
Sorry, saw your whatsapp, but have been a bit busy with life...Mr Stott are you up for this?
I'm not sure if I can make it yet... it's a bit complicated as I'm leaving work end of June, and then I'm going to take 6 months off and go to our place in Spain straight after I've done the Fastnet the 1st week in August.
Means I need to sort our house out here across July.... and find somewhere to store the Porsche.
Are you going on your own? If you are, could I decide when my plans are a bit clearer and hitch a lift wtih you?
Hope everything is ok Chris.
I'm meeting a few friends and going up there, if you want a lift that's no problem I can swing by yours and pick you up easily enough. I may know someone for storage as well, I should be seeing him next week when my car goes in for a service so can ask him then.
