I have sold my BMW M4 Competition and now am hunting down an i8. As my daily car it will be perfect for long distance, quiet and refined. The prices are so low now I just want to try one for a year.

I don't fancy a 911 as I already have a Boxster S and nothing else catches my fancy right now.

Had the i3 on lease for two years. Loved it. All being well, might jump on the i8 bandwagon next year.

I’ve ran one for the last year and they’re an amazing car. Futuristic looks and more than acceptable performance aside (acceleration in sport mode is fantastic), they’re cheap as chips to run - I’ve put £141 of petrol in mine, free road tax and the last service which was a major service with plugs, belts and door hinge service (!) was less than a grand. Can’t see the point of buying a really high mileage car though when another £5-7k will get you a sub 20k miles car.

i reckon, with the correct positioning, i could get this in the garage AND be able to open the door. Going to watch these for a bit.

The ad has NO interior pics. I have a feeling that might go some way to explaining the low priced this particular car.
(Grammar point there, can't have nothing of something) but I noticed that too; barely a shot of the interior.

BMW Warranty to 100k miles

Assuming that is the factory warranty from New? any option to extend this after, with Mondial BMW aftersales warranty?

Dealership has plenty more:

Around 30 pictures of the car on BMW’s AUC site, including the interior. Black with white highlights - looks quite nice to me. In keeping with a car that’s done 50k miles, but has been looked after.

I think my 1997 manual NSX is worth about 43k. I'd be very tempted to do a straight swap against this. Different animals, but the i8 is similar in concept to what the Honda was in 1990.
You would have to be insane. Much as there is a lot to be admired with the i8, the values are heading in opposite directions and you have an icon.

Ruinous warranty cost or a gamble on a ruinous failure at some point...

An article about the I8 and nobodies mentioned the always noted 911 that's been swallowed almost entirely at the back end!

It's true, once you've seen it you can't unsee it!

These do look fantastic on the road. I get the point about it being a 1.5 triple at that cost but I guess it's something we're all going to have to get use to, imagine when we're paying 50k for an electric engine the same as our neighbours 20k one only with more range!

As far as hybrid supercars go, the new NSX looks attractive to me...

So far and nobody mentioned the immense arse, which gives birth to a 991...?

It can never be unseen, and as mentioned before, yesterday's tech as in iPhone 6 or galaxy 7.
No, thanks.

Whereas a petrol engined car is so forward thinking.

I'm seriously considering one of these as my next daily. Would need to get an extended warranty though. So far they seem pretty reliable, but I'm guessing if something does go wrong it won't be cheap.

There was a gentleman on a social media site who was ripping out the batteries etc and replacing with a V8... I like the sound of that.

(Drove an i8 on track and was really impressed with it in standard guise).
