11 years for the driving offence, 2 years perverting the course of justice, consecutive(seems unusual), and 7 year ban commencing on release, again unusual.

I think, when this happened, the maximum penalty for Causing Death By dangerous Driving, was 14 years. There has been talk about increasing this but I'm not sure if anything has changed.

It will be pure hell for the parents. Absolute torture for years. every single birthday, every holiday, every time they see nephews and nieces growing up, every family event the memories will come back, it will be like having a knife twisted in their hearts.......

Sadly there are lots of people out there like this one who think it's perfectly fine to drive like a , and 99.99% of the time they'll get away with it "so what are the handwringers and the BRAKE mob complaining about". if it was down to me I'd cut their balls off before letting them back out.

Every day of the week driving around the West Midlands I see idiots street racing. It’s usually Audis and Mercs with no front plates and remaps being driven like they are stolen. Today I was looking to the right at a junction so I could turn left onto another road. It was all clear so I looked to the left before proceeding into the other road and immediately was confronted with two AMG badged Mercs racing side by side on both sides of the road. They were doing at least 70 mph in a 20. I could have in that instant become a statistic.

These clowns need hammering.

Birmingham does seem particularly afflicted though.

Driving standards overall in that city are rock-bottom, and there's an awful lot of young men in chipped German machinery who think they're the dog's...

If Instagram is to be believed, the low flying German bomber problem has got worse, get an S3 or similar and drive at 100 mph through a town centre with some st music playing, video it and upload.

Proving what exactly, other than you are a dick that’s likely going to have a big accident and kill someone ?

Which also seems to be happening with some regularity.

It really is and I’m sorry to say it but a lot of them are young Asian males based on my experience. They simply don’t think that the rules are for them. On a weekly basis I see someone just blast through red lights, overtake traffic on the wrong side of the road as they don’t want to wait, drive at stupid speeds in residential areas etc. I haven’t checked but I expect a number won’t be tax’ed/insured etc.

The other week there were 4 way temporary traffic lights due to roadworks causing a bit of a back log. Our light turns green so I go but instinctively look right at the junction which should be clear to see a white merc AMG flying down the wrong side of the road overtaking everyone in the queue, blasting through the red light narrowly missing me. When I beep them they give me abuse and threaten me before blasting through the next red. No reg plate to take as they’ve removed it.
