1525kg if that's EU then that's a great achievement in a car this big, looks good in blue with the M sport bits as well.

I'd like to see like for like specced cars on a scale. The whole 'the 2019 3 Series is up to 55kg lighter than the F30' is complete BS, as they compare the heaviest of the old series to the lightest of the new one.
The F30 wasn't heavy either hence I think it's impressive that they have cut the weight again the improved performance from engines with the same output and gearbox also points towards a lighter car, the lowest weight they are quoting for the base model G20 is 1400KG

Will be interesting to see what happens to the popularity of the 320d. As pointed out earlier the BIK is around £400 per month and the 320i comes in quite a bit cheaper. As this is almost THE default rep mobile that sort of thing is important. This is one of the main problems facing the Jag XE.
The 330e is still quite a bit more expensive so out of reach of your average company car driver. Maybe a 320e on the way to keep the fleets happy. I’d be very interested in one of those!
PCPs will probably keep 320 diesels going for a bit longer but I’m guessing the residuals must be starting to favour petrol. Also, if it’s a private sale can’t see many people (outside of PH) taking a saloon over an X2/X3.

I have a 2017 335d xdrive

the steering is horrible and completely artifical, devoid of any feel
the interior is awful and extremely bland for what the car cost
the engine is really nice

the interior of the new 3 series looks like a big improvement and certainly looks nice on the outside also, hope the steering is better too!

Tried one at an event a couple of weeks ago, brilliant car. Interior is a massive step up over the old model too.

Some positives for me are the weight reduction, and drag coefficient improvement. Those are actually great engineering achievements.

Not really a car for me though, because diesel seems to be already a defunct product. Or at least, I can't see *myself* buying one, because my thoughts would be around what to do with the damned thing once you're done with it.

Will you have trouble selling it at a reasonable price, or would you get shafted?

Interesting the test car was fitted with PS4S instead of run-flats - I wonder if this is a factory option i.e. delete RFT or just especially setup for these demo cars.

£48k for a 320d is nuts - you’ve been able to get a well specced 340i or 335d F3x for low to mid 30’s for a while. Prices will settle after launch, nobody will be paying anything like that sort of crazy list price for a 320d with every option.

Waiting to see if the M340i Touring can still come as RWD, the dealer we spoke to said it they think xDrive will be an option.

It bloody well needs to be....

I've had many many 3ers as company cars, and the outgoing model felt so bad it was like it was a deliberate move by BMW.
I remember thinking I'd rather have kept my 61-plate E91....

The plastics were horrid, as was the leather, which was the same on the 5 series for that matter...
Couldn't fault the Tech, but the C class / E class have BMW well beaten on interior quality until this.

Saw one in the local BMW dealership last week whilst the wife's car was in for a safety recall.

Really impressed with the build quality inside and I thought it was quite a handsome looking car.

New Z4 and 8 Series also looked ok.

This car will definitely sell well.

I have to say that review looked like an advert...... I hope not

Also is there a market for a saloon diesel, doesn't everyone want an SUV on stilts and latterly a petrol engine (no complaint there) ?

+1
IMHO The F31 interior is a much nicer place to be than my previous 2 E91s

The only thing I miss is the e92 pop out cup holders.

Everything else was a massive upgrade.

In regards to price you will eventually find bigger discounts on larger engines.

I thought anything with a diesel engine in was the devils work and we should all give them away or burn them.

Why exactly are they punting this thing out?

The F30/F80 Interior gripe for me is the sat nav, it would've made the interior far better if it was integrated like the E91, the sat nav in the new one is pretty much integrated again.

From that side view it looks like it's been shunted up the 'arris.

More likely that IT will be doing the shunting. Happens when the driver drives 2mm from the car in front......................as most of these will be.

It's funny he said that. The 1st X3 had such a large boot that it made the X5 redundant to us, the 2 generations after that have a sloping roofline which made the boot so useless that we went for a 340i Touring instead.
