Urgh. A very good reason not to buy one.

Looking forward to the Jesko vs Project One vs Valkyrie (vs Senna also?) road test shoot out.

Why the fk are you even talking about him?

This thread is about Koenigsegg, not about whether or not some berk has bought one.

A customer of mine has a deposit on one. He never intends to take delivery, purely sell before time. I believe his brother is the sole UK dealer for them, so he has access to some rather nice stuff. A pleasant chap, who always suprises me with new cars.

I'd love one, but I doubt I could pay the deposit required.

You could possibly cause a problem for him posting that.

Brother of UK sole importer is using his position for financial gain by flipping and denying genuine customers a slot.

I am amazed that people dare to share such information, madness.

Not uncommon though is it. Funny how al these speculators always get the GT3's that just happen to be up for sale straight away without a wheel turned.

Ford dealership who registered a Focus Heritage edition to themselves, waited a couple months, then had it up for sale for £100k.

Denying genuine customers the chance to own such cars. If you want one, you have to pay over the odds. So I'm told, anyone can walk into a Porsche dealership in Germany and order a GT3. If I tried that here, I'd get laughed at, and either told I need to start buying lots of Porsches to even get considered, or pointed to the Brand new registered car sat for £40k premium.

Manufacturers should clamp down on dealers who do this.

Alfa Romeo had a few dealers order the "N Ring" Quadrifoglio Giulia, unfortunately backfired for them when they added a 40k margin to resell the car, and Alfa Romeo then released another batch to the UK.

Love the pic of the rear window. Almost expecting to see an astronaut’s face peering from it.

it's amazing how the market for these million $/€/£ cars not only exists but never seems to saturate since the Veyron first appeared.

you can't really walk into a Porsche dealership and get one in Germany, at least not at the beginning of the production run - you might get lucky towards the end, but will probably have to walk to quite a few dealerships to get one (and even then not guaranteed - at least not during the last couple of years)
You could walk into the a Ferrari dealer and order a Speciale though (not sure how difficult those were to get in the UK) - no longer possible now.

Didn’t someone shove a Koenigsegg engine into an old Ford Granada once?
Edit: so they did http://www.speedhunters.com/2012/06/crazy_granad/

Without reading your link, yes was a guy Joel Olsson. Was a CCX engine or essentially a reworked Ford Coyote V8!! Followed his story on Passionford And had him on social media. But he moved to America to be a pilot and went off the radar (no pun intended). His friend was another Norwegian (magnus i think he was called) who had an 11.2L V8 TT in a black mk2 Granada with awesome chrome arches. Was 2400bhp smile

Considering the story behind this I am so glad they have got so many sales to keep them going forward.

To be honest his cars don't really float my boat style wise, but I am so glad he is doing it still and people are buying them.

He's the Swedish Peter Wheeler.

What is the Swedish for Ding Dong?

In a world where Ford stop doing fun cars for SUV's, a sad grey world where the crossovers look at the small suvs and do not know the difference.....

beer
He is about as far from the “Swedish Peter Wheeler” as you could hope to imagine in your wildest dreams ever and then some rofl

Proper geeky engineering and innovation vs bought in bits and pieces knocked up in a shed on a poor quality space frame chassis built to a price. And when TVR did try to make their own engines it didn’t end too well.

Harsh!

Mr wheeler did a great job on a shoestring. They are different beasts in their entirety. A TVR is still an aspirational car for many, but also within reach for many, so he handed the Jesko to the average man, just mildly less engineered!

They are both fun, make people smile and have 4 wheels, that's all that counts really! smile

"Mildly" less engineered!?!?!? rofl

I seem to remember reading an old car magazine article somewhere telling the story of a (I believe factory fresh) TVR was driven to Stuttgart and looked over by Porsche engineers who then had a good belly laugh when they saw the use of sticky tape to keep the wiring together...

Why does a car of this stature sport such huge 19th century wing mirrors? Surely in this technological age a couple of micro rear view cameras would bestow a useful aerodynamic benefit?

They're not huge, I suspect you're missing the scale of the thing, but I'm sure they're being looked at in future.

I seem to remember them being legislatively difficult in some markets too.
