The engine is what makes these cars, that B58 is a stunner.
I love mine (440i), one minute effortless cruiser, the next, noisy straight six with buckets of torque and revs to 7k+
Couldn't have a 4 pot again I don't think.
Enjoy it while you can....I love mine (440i), one minute effortless cruiser, the next, noisy straight six with buckets of torque and revs to 7k+

I'll be buying mine outright at the end, no way am I swapping into a 4pot "M" anything!
Yeah! It'd be a damned bloody disgrace if BMW ever put anything less than a "6" in an M car! Still don't want a 4pot now tho

As long as there is a market, manufacturers will service it, as long as the cars can meet the regulations we will still be allowed them, the governemnts likes the revenue from car sales and fuel sales. Even in an electric future there will still be IC engined cars.

Looks like a family member to the Fiat 124 Spider, at the front.
Every car has similarities to other cars, it's unavoidable by the restrictions to pedestrian safety and the airflow requirements to reduce drag and improve CO2 etc...This is a great example of brand "conformity". Choose your favourite...

Has there ever been a thread for a mainstream new car where some wag hasn't piped up with a moan about how heavy it is?
ThisNearly every thread. It's 2019 not 1999. What do people seriously expect? Unless it was a weekend/track car only, I personally couldn't care how much a car weighs, modern cars seem to do a pretty good job in disguising their mass anyway.
