It does rather :-)
Having splatted my W220 S350 I finally made up my mind on this (after a few jobs at the dealer).
No forecourt shot as it was a smidge above Barge limits, however once it heads into range I’ll take the obligatory range (rule bending maybe :-)).
Jim
PS - it is waaaay more refined than the Merc!

Any news on the Century? We're keen for news on the Century.
Tell us about the Century, or I'll be forced to fill the gap with another update on LC500 prices.
Is this the Century that the bloke is going to buy in Japan and drive back here across land? Most interesting. I are most envious.Tell us about the Century, or I'll be forced to fill the gap with another update on LC500 prices.

I believe those prices are from £76,660 OTR.Tell us about the Century, or I'll be forced to fill the gap with another update on LC500 prices.
I can't get on with the predator-faced Lexi though, awful.
Sorry, bit slow to catch on the caravan chat. Here's our one with the old bus, haven't had chance to tow it with the xc90 yet, but the maiden voyage is next week.
With 3 kids a campervan isn't really viable I don't think, because space; current regs needing safe travelling seats and the previously mentioned camp/decamp issues. We've had it for a couple of years, a thread style purchase of an older model via ebay at a hopefully relatively favourable point on it's journey down the depreciation curve from wheely-shed to really dead.

Out of curiosity has anyone on this thread got (or know of someone who has) a Toyota Century? This thread has reminded me of them and I'd love one, would be very curious to hear opinions about actually running one. Are they as reliable as you would hope? Could you use it as a family wagon for cross country touring and if the fuel economy is appalling (to be expected with a 5l V12) can you LPG convert them? Or should I not be difficult and get a big old lexus instead?

Currently have my eyes on this and I am very tempted....€995!

I finally took the plunge and bought a Century, £1032 over thread budget though, and a fair bit more over thread budget by the time it's landed and duty paid. I am both excited and anxious in equal measure.

Those early models are not much good. Not very good 5 speed Ford autobox from the Explorer, very heavy on suspension components, not great to drive, and very ropey interior. The 2002 onwards facelift cars drive better, get a nicer interior, and a 6 speed ZF gearbox.Currently have my eyes on this and I am very tempted....€995!
