Anyone here care to comment on the reliability of the older Touaregs (and X5s for that matter)?

I am considering one as a cheap daily.

Really surprised that this beaut hasn't gone yet. Can't remember what it was originally advertised at but I'm sure the price is now lower.

Oh my, what a fantastic car. If I had £7k and wasn't in thr slightest bit concerned by absurd bills then I'd buy that. I have always loved the design of the C215 but I've heard too many horror stories with them and also the V12s.

What a wonderful thing though!

Great looking car. Looks like it's running a Commodore 64 based satnav too.

No worse than a contemporary Seven and you've managed that.

Shame it's not 6 months younger and as such a 5.5 twin turbo, instead it's the 5.8 normally aspirated unit (which is fine enough really, but for the running costs, you might has well have 500+ bhp instead of 370) with its occasionally troublesome coil packs.

I bet you could get your money back buying another set and re-tyring them and selling those wheels.

The exhausts I'm not sure about, maybe just hack them to be recessed under the bumper and paint them black?

They're not. Rather, they're specific to CLs and may have been an SL optional style.

Slightly O/T, but is anyone familiar with Italian eBay? Or speak Italian? Or know any Italians? Or even like pizza?

I am looking at sexy Fiats. (I know, it needs to be said carefully, but I am).

I rather like this but suspect it's a scam; anyone able to shed any light? Vendor appears to have no other sales and I can't really work it out. Car should be around 20-30K euros I'd have thought, unless I really am buying from Giuseppe who has no idea of its worth.

https://www.ebay.it/itm/FIAT-1500-S-OSCA-SPIDER/14...

As an aside, it's not often you get a photo posted here with the wheelie bins in the background, but it's testament to the beauty of the car that I only noticed them after gazing at it in forensic detail for about 4 hours.
Apologies for a self-quote, and an O/T one at that, but this has just ended at a little over 14,000 euros. I bid up to around 11 and a half and am pretty sure it was legit after all. The seller sent me a bunch more photos but didn't answer my specific questions, but there were quite a few bidders so it wasn't being shilled I don't think. I reckon that isn't a bad buy.

I think I might keep an eye out for one of these Fiats next year; they are very pretty little things.

Crap ad, 143k, and over thread at 6k, but, who knew this shape XK was getting so close to range?
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2019...

These is no reason these shouldn't be mechanically robust, particularly if you stick with the tried and tested 4.2 rather than the 5.0 where Jaguar decided to reintroduce the excitement of failing timing chains. No fancy active suspension of any sort, well known ZF6 gearbox right up until the end of production, and aluminium bodywork so no catastrophic rust like the XK8. Even a NASP 4.2 will be brisk enough not to annoy.

A convertible is where it's at for me, otherwise it's just a more cramped X350 really hehe
This ad does not help to portray the seller as being anything other than incredibly conceited. Minimal word count description, no photos of the private plate that's included - strikes me as the type that wants to give as little as possible away to save potential comebacks. On the other hand, the website looks kosher.
The XK is a handsome car with considerable allure, especially as a soft-top. That said, the look-at-me wheels on this particular one are the motoring equivalent of wearing a pair of Jeffrey West shoes with a decent suit.

Yeah the century was designed to be as smooth and quiet as possible. Whereas my crown Athlete v is the sportier/more powerful version of the crown. Don't get me wrong the 1jz i6 is still very smooth but not like the V12 in the century.
What MPG do you get cruising the motorway at say 70mph?
