A few of us have deposits down for one. Early indications are 335bhp, 1100kg, FWD. So you might laugh at us driving them, as we laugh while driving them. Everyone wins Riley Blue said:

I'm actually quite sold on it (minus the PR Blurb about 'menacing' looks and the homage to the 1960s original Mini). The fact it has two seats makes no difference. If you're over 6 foot a normal mini becomes a two seater anyway due to the lack of rear seat space.

Surprised arches like that wouldn't upset the NCAP type folk. They look like they could cut bits off people!
Will be interesting to see how much of the styling is carried through to production. Though it doesn't matter in many ways, as it will most likely sell out regardless, as is the way with these things.
Over 300bhp in a production MINI is pretty bonkers whichever way you look at it, so bravo BMW.

There's only 500 of the 3000 being made coming to the UK (might have been mentioned in the article, I only skim read it), so it'll be quite a rare, quirky terrier. In March I hired a new Cooper S petrol (2.0 turbo?) for 11 days. Having never driven a new MINI before I chose it deliberately and looked forward to it, but it was awful - completely characterless engine with an overly linear powerband with no 'fizz', and the steering - it was awful. Genuinely lacking in any feel. I can only imagine the early Cooper S models were a lot better.
I hope at least the steering issue is addressed on this new model.

Odd, I just bought a jcw for precisely the opposite to what you wrote. I hope at least the steering issue is addressed on this new model.
It’s a fantastic little thing which doesn’t suffer from lack of a lsd. The build quality puts my Panamera to shame and it never fails to amuse.
I had the car you mentioned for a day as a loan car and whilst there is some notable difference I still found that fun.

What do you know about cars anyway? I hope at least the steering issue is addressed on this new model.
*Nice Ferrari!
