Yes, he drove that particular automatic when he was in the UK - it is Honda UK's heritage fleet example - but he also drove a number of manual cars both in the development phase of the car, and was later given a black (iirc) one.

From what I can gather only very early NSXs and possibly R versions had no power steering.

Most of those built had early electric powering steering, and like the S2000, were regarded as *crap* from a steering feel and feedback perspective.
Not quite true. Certainly from 1997, the JDM purchaser could opt to have PAS or not on manual cars - My 1999 Type S does not have PAS, which makes parking a bit of an effort sometimes, but the trade off is excellent feedback and feel at all other speeds.
I drove my friend's 1992's yesterday and was interesting to compare to my 2004

Loved the non-PAS steering - a lot more feel in the corners
Didn't like the big gap between 1st and 2nd - 6 speed box better
My induction noise seemed a lot louder - maybe because I removed the engine cover?
1992 was softer riding - assume smaller wheels, softer springing and smaller ARBs make the difference.

Good man, enjoy! Give the big toys hell biggrin
Was a fun day. Think I need to investigate Cup2s at some point as the Contis took a bit of beating. My temperature gauge was getting pretty high (was a warm day) but no warning lights. Think I can be a lot more aggressive on the brakes. Looking forward to going back again soon smile

Twin pot sliding, with differential piston sizes to control pressure distribution and prevent grab. Smaller and lighter than a 4-pot fitment, to the benefit of unsprung weight, with negligible performance difference in road use.
