Prefacelift E23 BMW 7-series

E34 with Shadowline trim in dark colours (my old 540i/6 above)

Prefacelift JZX100 Toyota Chaser (extra points for pillarless windows). Mix of E36 angular features, Sacco merc style C pillar and good proportions.

]
beer i like your style, good call on the Chaser especially in orange indicator spec on a dark car, ideally black.

People posting BMWs, Audi’s and Mercs - sort yourselves out.

Anyway, surprised no one has posted this,

Or maybe they have and I haven’t noticed? Anyway, always lusted after one.

Good shouts on the Alfa’s and Jags. Excellent design aplenty.
Certainly an interesting, quirky design yes, but beautiful? Not in my opinion. The short stubby back end seem to go against the long sweeping curves on the side.

I would class the design as likeable, but in a weird/ugly sort of way, the same as my 6 series.

A friend of mine is lucky enough to own these two British modern design classics

I think Bentley got it just right when they facelifted it to 4 round headlights- timeless.

Agree with that completely.
I know it’s all subjective but there’s loads of four door saloons been posted on here that are interesting/quirky/different, but definitely not beautiful.
Mind you, some can’t even get the amount of doors right.

It wasnt a very popular car at the time, so it looks quirky as you dont see many of them.

I always saw the C6 as what Peugeot designers thought a big Citroen should look like rather than what one actually should look like.

Here's a couple of more standard examples snapped on the St Gottard pass a few years ago:

The Jaguar XJ has to take the prize, but this version of the Cortina used to catch my eye whenever I saw one.

Also, I walked past the current 508 a couple of days ago and couldn't resist a closer look:

Sticking with Peugeot, no one has mentioned the 604 yet. It was very handsome:

Agreed on all accounts, especially the Peugeots. They have a good record of handsome saloons.

Always felt the 405 Mi16 was one of the best.

Agreed. Late Arnage and 75 V8 get my vote.

If we are going with "modern" vehicles, anyone remember Fords "Interceptor" concept from 2007?

It’s a piece of piss to make a concept car look great so not really relevant. Making a real world car design look great is a whole different ball game and where true quality design shines through. This is what the real world regulation compliant, production viable version of that concept looks like.

Christ there has been some st posted on this thread, mostly from 300bhp/tonne, but that is no surprise.

We all know that this is the best looking saloon of all time. I will hear or read no argument. Anyone who disagrees is just wrong.
