Had a similar dilemma myself recently, although I was looking for something to add to the fleet, not replace.
Hate to admit it, but a 991 S is probably a safe place to head. We all say porkers are a bit.....well......bland etc, but in all honesty they’re damn good cars.
Been trying to get my name down for a 992 GT3 but nobody will take my money, so somebody must rate them
Do you want a “safe” or balls to the wall ?

Hi,
I've got a DB9 and I've been thinking about what next myself. I've had the DB9 for a couple of years. Thoroughly enjoy the experience of owning this magical and beautiful marque. I've thought about a much newer 2014 - 2016 Vantage V8 so I'm intrigued to learn what you have not enjoyed about owning your car?

A truly fantastic car, the s-tronic gearbox knocks the spots off a sports shift 2 gearbox, it’s considerably faster and in that price bracket not many cars, if any at all come close (in my opinion of course, I am sure other will have a difference of opinion).

Not enjoyed the constant trips back to the dealership. Not a car to have with no warranty on, and at more than 2k a year makes my 1800 miles a year dear motoring.I've got a DB9 and I've been thinking about what next myself. Must admit it's disappointing to read of you guys selling because of frustrating issues.
As a lowly MY07 buyer I'm thinking I might have to do a few bits.
But the newer/hopefully more refined models ought to be an easier ownership experience surely. Especially at the prices!
It's early days for me but so far so good.

I moved to a Lotus Exige, which has been brilliant. Over 1/2 ton lighter than the Vantage!! 1.5 seconds quicker to 60!! Utterly mesmerizing to drive you won't be disappointed. I had a Porsche before (and TVRs) the Lotus is easily the most enjoyable.Time for the Vantage to go.

Lotus are on a path of rebirth too much like Aston, but only just started since the purchase of the company last year.

Currebtly own a 4.3 07, the aston is really impressive, but lacks a bit of craziness for me. FYI, I did just decide to renew the warranty, feels like a waste of money as the car is very reliable, but nice to it worry about it for 200/month.Time for the Vantage to go.

Any way
In a fit of silliness 2 weeks ago I bought another tvr tuscan. I've had a cerbera and tuscan before.
I am totally smitten and in love with my new tuscan, they are just epic and awesome and cool. Don't discount going back, for me, it's even sweeter returning and reminding myself of what I've been missing in the crazy stakes recently!!
If you're near Cambridge, come have play, I'll persuade you to come back to the dark side.
Porsche is a good option but not the 991, got to be the Cayman/Boxster. I know some people have a bit of a hang up over ‘poor man’s 911’, but recently a friend (who is by no means a poor man) replaced his 911 with a Boxster and gave me a go, and I get it now. The 991 is a luxury GT, and the Cayman/Boxster is the real sports car. Enormous fun.
