Who makes the best V8 NOISE?
Discussion
To my ears it's any V8 with a cross plane crank with a lovely blub-lub-lub-lub-lub sound at low speed. Plus it must have an autobox to keep that smoothness. Most US V8s. I'll pass on anything with a flat plane crank (McLaren, Ferrari).

My understanding:
Cross plane crank, deep rumble at idle lazy effortless torque and an American rasp when pulling away. Better for low rpm noise.
Flat plane crank, noise increases in intensity as the revs rise, more power higher up the revs, better for Ferrari style high rpm screamers.
Each has it’s merits but the beauty is in the ear of the beholder.

There are so many variations, even amongst a manufacturers own products its difficult to say. A lot is down to personal preference
Personally I like the sound of an old school Hemi with a big lumpy cam
