who remembers this chap ?

Not sure where all the moaners stand now: clearly an owned car, clearly not on PCP and remarkably, I'm impressed a Vauxhall managed it !
An old barge of a 4x4, if anything this just strengthens the argument that Mr "i'm going to drive this new RR on the beach", probably did so with a PCP/leased vehicle.
WTAF?

Well there is that. hehe

But I like to be optimistic about these things.
I've driven on all sorts, but never shingle. However the two steps up, slide back one when walking makes me think it's probably not easy to drive on even before accounting for the obvious muppetry.
Yea I think an experienced 4x4er would just have avoided it. Deep shingle is hard get a grip of walking, never mind driving on.
Indeed. But sometimes even experienced drivers can get caught out and stuck.

It’s just for some reason, we like to laugh and pour scorn on people when it happens.

It's two reasons - the enjoyment of seeing someone get stuck who we think deserves it, as in "serves them right": and the sensation of thanking the Lord it didn't happen to us, which also gives pleasure.

Do we laugh before or after we have walked up and asked how they have paid for the car?

And do we laugh more or less if it’s leased?

can't find the proper BBC story- but how about this- proper tyres, proper landrover and def no PCP.

sad/funny story really. poor chap.

I drove a suzuki vitara soft top down an empty beach in Antigua once- didn't get stuck - but I could have. And I was a bit tipsy. it was on hire though, not PCP. I suspect lots of people, given the chance would cock about on the beach in a 4 x 4 given the chance.

Why on earth would you bother?

No idea, I imagine that's an individual's choice. You can think for yourself, can't you?

My post was a sarcastic dig at the bullst around the moaning at how people pay for cars.
And those laughing at the guy for getting stuck.

Personally I don’t care how the cars bought as it doesn’t affect me, nor am I in a position to get a new car so someone out there is currently paying for my future used car.. hehe

I know this as well. And I'm as guilty as the next person for laughing, even though when younger I was driving a shed Fiesta on a beach and got stuck myself. I know what a tt I felt, and imagine he felt the same. Nothing malicious, just funny.

I saw it coming when I got into kitcars 20 years ago,.......
So not only can we confirm you stopped being a car enthusiast 20 years ago, we also now have an explanation for that massive fibreglass chip on your shoulder, kudos on the panel gaps between it and your shoulder........nice detail.

Any chance you can post up some evidence of the financial arrangement of the car in the photograph....................or is ignorant jealousy a bit easier for you?

You utter weapon, you’re the only one “arguing” about the financial details of a car.

Go and glue some panels a bit closer you fool.

Actually sick to death of people crying about leases/pcp. I don’t give a st how people buy/rent their cars or what they choose to do with them.

It’s usual ph bks on every thread these days, makes coming on here to read stuff a chore having to read through the ste.

Have another one yes
And from me. This holier than thou attitude because they have a paid for 12 year old Rover or whatever. Total bks.

Your susceptibility to media BS is astounding, them of course taking every opportunity to tar all kitcars with one brush has lead to a whole bunch of people (it's not even one generation) who are missing out on something truly unique........ So what are these "panel gaps" you speak of?
I wonder if you realise that when TopGear did the Stratos replica, they actually sabotaged the car and scripted in "incidents" to make it look bad in order to continue to anti-kitcar narrative projected by the motoring press as an extension of the establishment, who in turn keep trying and failing to regulate kitcars out of existence.

Why don't YOU post evidence of financial arrangements of whatever photographed car you seem to be barking on about?

I don't do jealousy, nothing to to be jealous of, I choose not to spend my disposable monthly income on a status symbol. I have respect for those who save to buy a car they want to keep, but when someone rents a car and calls themselves a "car enthusiast", my first thoughts are somewhat unkind.

You'll never explain it to them hehe

If you mention PCP then you are an instant anti-PCP-snob etc.. and will be bombarded with endless replies of "why do you care how..." etc. etc.., despite what you are actually saying being quite different. It's like mentioning global warming - sorry climate change - and saying you might be less than convinced of the "facts", you'll be branded a climate denier before you can finish the sentence.

Why would you join the UK’s most well known and populous car forum when you have zero interest in modern day motoring ?

Your posts seem to be littered with scorn for how others live their life and berating the fact that you aren’t sufficiently valued in your career.

Are you getting help ?
