I had this engine in the e39 chassis. Was surprised by how good the MPG was on a run. Unfortunately the engine refused to start one day, it was believed to be the chain skipping a cog due to chain guide failure. From what I read this seems to be a common issue and also the cooling system would be in a constant state of disrepair iirc, although could be internet hyperbole and I was just unlucky

Love that shape and would love to have that car. Except the annual road tax for this vehicle in Ireland is €1809. Imagine having to fork that out every year!

The V12 of course shares its engine with a Rolls Royce.
Two different engines all together.
No, the 5.4 M73 V12 is in the e38 and Rolls Royce Seraph. Same engine.

Had my 728i for four months now and what a lovely wafter it is, I echo the points made about how it is one of the best looking 4 door saloons ever made.

Another dealer who obscures the number late to prevent you checking MOT history, so one to avoid for me.
Pretty sure that's not the reason...
I wonder how he bought cars before the MOT information became available online?

Different class of car. The 7 has much more rear leg room, for a start. It's an S class rival, not a CLS rival.
Appreciate that. But I'm not employing a chauffeur, would be in the driving seat myself.
Actually, need to drive one at some point.
Well the 7 series has a better ride quality, for starters.... smile
I cant remember that far back but cant imagine an air sprung CLS is far behind a 1990s BMW for ride quality ?
M5 w211 E55 was comfy, but the air springs could be a little unforgiving.

Would love one of these with the S62 with manual transmission fitted.
