Wife and daughter need to get to Yorkshire - Simple?
Discussion
To try and give OP the benefit of the doubt, it may be his wife has a legitimate reason to be unable to drive up there, it's not unusual for people to be irrationally anxious about things and it can be crippling, and as much as PH would tell her to just get the fk over it, perhaps he's trying to show some compassion for his partner, who knows. I believe this kind of thinking earns me a snowflake or something, correct?
By way of balance, I'd argue he's obviously busy slinging one up his diving instructor and just wants a quick way to get her indoors up to the wedding with minimal high pitched noise, the associated cost inconsequential compared to the value of getting his snorkel some mouth time with a professional. So for Allah's sake we need to help the man!

So, you're going to cost yourself and your daughter, cash and a faffing pain in the arse because your wife doesn't fancy a drive on some motorways in a Cayenne 3.0D/MINI?
Unless she's disabled in some way and requires upmost comfort and accessibility by depole then that's understandable. But if not, then WTF are you doing to the general public?
The sooner your OH stops driving the better - as it seems she can't! Unless she's disabled in some way and requires upmost comfort and accessibility by depole then that's understandable. But if not, then WTF are you doing to the general public?

Any advice?
My wife is currently at work in Redhill (Surrey) and needs to get home to Horsham (West Sussex). Total journey is over 17 miles plus she has to cross county lines. All she has at her disposal is a blue Vauxhall Corsa.
Help

Well, living in that area myself, I can confirm there is a very regular direct train from Redhill that goes to Horsham. Takes about 30 mins.My wife is currently at work in Redhill (Surrey) and needs to get home to Horsham (West Sussex). Total journey is over 17 miles plus she has to cross county lines. However if she has to drive, I would recommend going West towards Reigate and taking the A217 to join up with the A23 around Horley. The A23 south from Redhill is a slow pain in the arse.
The problem though is whether a blue Vauxhall Corsa is an acceptible vehicle to be seen in, whilst passing through Reigate. Reigate is a very nice area and such a faux-pas may not be taken well. If only you knew someone who had a Porsche that wasn't being used for a few days.

He's not addressed any of the issues (eg, what's wrong with the mini, why are his wife and daughter incapable of everyday tasks, what is the need to take the bigger car, etc) which made the original post so incredible.
Yeah but he lives in London and he’s got a few quid. He and his missus can easily go the next 40 years without having to handle life the same way most of us do.I don’t mean that aggressively. It’s another planet, and the people there, all lovely of course, are living a life completely alien to the rest of the UK.
The mistake was the thread. The situation is NfL. Normal for London.
Most folk, faced with having to go somewhere by car, and having a car sat outside, will quickly make the leap to "I know, we'll take the car."
Easy problem. Done. Sorted.
In this case though, with the troublesome presence of some money and perhaps some keeping up of appearances to be done, maybe the gentle reminding of a sister left behind of how well we've done, we introduce a whole new problem - is the car the right car?
Major problem. Funny thread.
