Really like the C8 in Daytona Grey, great colour!

I'd still pick the Vorsprung edition in Mythos Black or Nardo with Vossen wheels.
This is like a foriegn langauge!
Apologies! Alternative:

Dark grey is nice.
But I prefer black or light grey with different wheels.

I have a mapped C43 with the same system and the AMG performance seats.
I keep looking at E63 as well but cannot find a face lift estate with those seats.
I'd recommend prefacelift E63S with the AMG seats like this one;

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202109207...

Facelifts get a nicer dash but don't seem to get the AMG seats and are much quieter
I'm looking for a w205 C63S as my budget is around 35k, the E63S will be a likely candidate for the car after the c63. I just cannot stomach having 50k tied up in a car when I do 3k a year (and have some house renovation work to do!)

Do buyers really purchase these outright? I'd've thought that finance is the most common method of purchase.

Most people no, but I don't really like finance if I can avoid it. I'd likely have loaned 25% of the car but as I've sat and waited for an extra year due to the price increases its given me time to save up and just buy fully outright. I'm still a bit wary about paying these inflated prices though, but the market seems to be dipping a little now.

Probably is, unfortunately i would say. All our vehicles are owned outright (4 cars and 3 bikes) and our only credit is the mortgage. That's how I prefer to be and just put money aside each month towards the next upgrade. It means a comfortable level of savings which increase over time rather than having a high level of monthly commitments.

Exactly!

I would add that I didn't just suddenly have the cash for a C63, this has been a process over 10-15 years where I buy a car used car at x price, then save up for the next, and keep upgrading each time. So I had many years driving alot cheaper cars, rather than just PCP'ing a new car for the same overall cost but with nothing to show for it in terms of asset value.

I've had 4 Audi Rs products (V10 RS6, V8 RS6 x2, V6 RS5). All have either had aftermarket Milltek or sports exhaust. If you were to get an older RS (such as B8 RS4/5) than they will sound brilliant. Failing that the cheapest option would be to have existing exhaust cut up and modified by PCW Mods (for example). Brilliant cars in their own right but sound isnt that great frankly hence why I changed the exhausts.
AMG out of the box is amazing (A45 exempt-some would disagree but I hates that car and the sound wasn't all that). Exhaust and engine note is an AMG USP. The latest versions all suffer from emissions regulations but thats the same for any car. Mine is a 2019 so it escapes that (2021 was when it caught up to E63) and sounds fantastic. You can get third parties exhausts but that would be at the risk of too loud and the new 'noise cameras' are coming in so just be aware of that. For sheer aggressive noise I dont think you can beat a pre facelift C63 or similar frankly and thats stock. They are just an angry sounding car. on AMG its the 'Performance Exhaust' that you want. Luckily on my car it comes as stock.
If you want AWD go for an earlier RS (B8 apparently had a titanium exhaust option) or buy one already fitted? The RS6 with a non res Milltek is a monster sound.
Big thanks for such a great reply!

I think the C63 is right for me, I'm not looking for a car that is great on the limit but rather something that sounds nice and is an event even when driving normally. It will be good for family duties (*young kids) yet not annoyingly large like an Rs6/7. I don't do many miles so don't care much about fuel costs and I just want something that will make me smile at normal pace and also when I'm driving solo and really want to open it up a bit.

I did consider an Rs4 but I need 4 doors so its an avant and they are c63 money but the tech/interior etc is a gen behind. (I have a B8 S4 so it also would just be the same as what I have now just inside with a better sound and much worse MPG).
Coming from an Audi I think you'll be quite disappointed with the W205 interior. Sure it looks good but the quality is dreadful, it rattles constantly and the infotainment is awful. I love my C63 but even coming from an RS3, the interior feels rattly and not as well put together.

Beyond the interior annoyances, it is a great car and the right size. Not as loud as my old car and maybe doesn't feel quite as quick, but a remap will fix that. Slightly harsh ride but that comes with the territory, B8 RS4 isn't any better and the fuel economy will be horrendous.

I think my next well be a B9 RS4 or RS5 Sportback to be totally honest, however they've kept their money extraordinarily well, which I suppose demonstrates how good they are.

Yes I have heard this about the interior. Very suprised to say you felt the Rs3 was faster and louder? The c63 with sports exhaust valves ooen is meant to be quite loud? I had a Fiat coupe 20vt a long time ago and loved the noise but surely a 5 pot isn't a patch on a v8?
Also the C63 must have a huge amount more torque? I've driven a SL55 AMG and it felt much faster than my s4, like different league.

Not been in an Rs3, I love the proportions of the saloon but going for a c63 based on the epci noise/engine, hence your comment took me by surprise!

A stock facelift RS3 has relatively similar power/weight to a C63 and is faster in the 1/8th and 1/4th primarily because of the traction. The C63 isn't bad especially on a dry road, but the RS3 has constant grip and feels very very fast on the road.

Mine was tuned and had the secondary cats removed, so it takes a loud car and makes it louder, along with 500hp and a ~3.1 0-60. It genuinely walks away from a C63, mainly because of traction, but sounds like a rally car as well. The i5 in that car is a fantastic engine, very turbo-y with a wall of torque whereas the C63 is far more linear.

I'm going to get the C63 tuned in June or July and see where it lands. Don't get me wrong I love the car, it's more fun in the corners and it sounds far better in 9/10 situations, but when the i5 in the RS3 is screaming it sounds like a V10.

I get you
C63S is RWD only though
That's why I went C43 mapped to 420BHP
AWD and AMG performance sets
Better all year round car than a C63S

True but to me the C43 is the sensible choice and I've already done that when I bought a S4 instead of the Rs4. Also the sound isn't anywhere near as good etc. I'm more into having a car that is an event at any speed - i.e even when pootling around with the kids onboard.

Remap and factory performance exhaust is plenty loud enough wink and switchable

C63 is fine in the cold and wet, but I wouldn’t fancy a track day in anything but dry conditions.

An S4 remaps to Rs4 speed but the character isn't there, the sound etc, things you can't measure on paper via stats. There is a market for both c43 and c63 - its just my time to be in the v8 before they are a thing of the past.

+1 for all of this. I tend to tell people I've purchased an engine which just happens to have a car attached to it. Fine value sub £35k but if I'd have paid 70 odd grand for one I'd be thoroughly disappointed with the quality of the inside. It's definitely not too quiet though! Mine has the standard non performance exhaust and I do worry about the neighbours when I start it up first thing.
