I like to think this is more of a celebration than a competition.
Apologies, highlights....its a good thread...

The Brabus was the mic drop for this thread in terms of fast estates and after that, everyone else can just chill and enjoy

Remind me, how fast does one’s estate have to be?

My C63 qualified, but what about it’s replacement…

Merc CLS 350d. I ask because on paper it has less power but the same if not more torque. Coupled with its 9 speed box, I reckon it could be hot on the heals of the C63.

Of course, it does use the wrong fuel and Mercedes doesn’t call it an estate…

To be frank, it isn't that impressive but at least it isn't a wannabe such as a Taycan or other 'stretch' of the interpretation of estate. Rotters, the lot of 'em.

Some more bimmer content...

Previous FE qualifications:
Gul yellow 850 T-5R estate (an icon and should never have sold it)
Alfa 159 Ti (not fast but beautiful!)
Leon Cupra 280 (FWD and not a great steer)

And most recently, the below...

Watched one of these enter the M-Way a few weeks ago and I was shocked by the pace.

Fair. But a Taycan is faster…. (Pulls pin and stands back).

It wouldn't be faster to the South of France, whilst transporting at least five people, with independent ingress/egress for each row and a substantial volume of luggage... which is the basis of the appeal for a bona fide fast estate.

Grown up practicality first, caring for the inner child second.

Touché. And I don’t disagree with you, something practical you can have fun with is worth its weight in gold.

One of the best estates I have driven was a previous bosses old square Mercedes estate. (Way older than yours, but I can’t remember what it was, maybe an old E Class)? It was a total sleeper, cavernous and could ferry several families around. Really lovely thing.

Precisely that -- estate first and fast second. Petrol for gold!

How was it on a long run? Did you get a chance to squeeze the throttle a little? Well, did you, Mister?

It's made for journeys like that. 350 each way, supremely competent and yes a little extension of the right foot very quickly takes it into 3 figures.

I actually set an audible ping to alert me just before as it's so effortless

3 up and taking kit for the other car as well, wonderful car easily the best I've owned
