Anyone have any boy racer solutions herebiggrin?

Have the Sports Exhaust on Macan but when it starts up from cold all the valves are open and it sounds very beefy and fruity indeed. Would love that on demand rather than the more muted 'sports' mode I have to remember to press every time I start it.

Anyone supplying any solutions?

Gert at Carnewal does this kind of thing for 911s, Boxsters and Caymans, perhaps worth giving him a shout.

Try disconnecting the sports exhaust valves actuators.....quite a simple job.

Yes. Worth a try.

The noises from cold you are referring to are as a result of the warm up strategy - the engine is run with very late injection and ignition, high valve lift and secondary air injection - the majority of combustion is completed post cylinder which speeds up catalyst heating. It sounds great then fades away after 120-200 seconds as the cats and sensors are up to temp. A sports exhaust mod will be louder but less dramatic than the cold start.

Make sure you plug the vacuum hose ends as the vacuum is shared with water cooling valves

This sounds like the simple golf tee mod for BMW cars! Bung a golf tee in the end of the removed vac pipe and tie up. I know just the man with a ramp to have a little fiddle...

Wonder how much proper OE Porsche gold tees are for a proper job without affecting warranty wink

Thats exactly it. Sports Exhaust button doesn't do much to be fair. Never knew the engine had variable valve lift! It is a truly superb engine too - esp for a Turbo.
