Jesus wept. It’s a car.
What are you doing on this forum? Surely the whole point of being a PHer is getting attached to cars because they are more than a tool for a job?

I am completely biased but I would still rather have a V8 Cayenne. There appears to be no GTS right now so it would have to be the Turbo which is more expensive. I have a 2013 GTS and I would not swap it for a Merc or BMW.
I have a Macan S petrol (my first Porsche) and i agree that there is simply no turning back to a BMW or Mercedes, there is quite honestly no substitute for Porsche. There may be faster or quicker cars but there is just the feeling of everything being just right with Porsche that you simply do not get with any other manufacturer. That MB v8 though.......

Are you referring to the tyre "skip" at low speed/full lock? If so it is not a flaw, its commonplace amongst cars of this ilk.
Sorry but sounds like we're talking about different things - I'm talking about the 'crabbing' that digs up drives, that Mercedes acknowledged as a fault (replacing tyres etc) but then changed their minds, that there are ongoing threats of legislation from owners, and that no 4wd (including Porsche, BMW, or Land Rover) I have driven has ever had.

It's a hideously ugly, pointless car in a stupid market segment. You could buy something like a nearly new XC90 to satisfy the practical aspect, plus a nearly new Boxster and have a proper sports car as well.

However - who am I to say what car someone should or shouldn't be allowed to buy? Obviously there's a demand otherwise they wouldn't produce something like this. If some orange people or insecure company director types want to get one then crack on.

You did not need to add the second sentence, I think it is quite obvious that you have no style.

MB makes the best exterior design among the big German manufacturers right now.

Does anybody ever drive these across a field or up a steep bank? Never seen one remotely off road besides a flat piece of grass at 'Sports day' or a polo event where if it rains perish the wife's shoes. Just buy an estate, problem solved.
I am late to the party, but why the hell not... loading/unloading (for example babies and baby seats) into an SUV is much easier.
Some people also have physical conditions that make getting into and out of low estates a choir.

I am loving low sportcars.
And I bet RS6 is a hoot to drive, I'd love to own one.
Now that I also have a basic SUV (UV, rather, I would not call it sporty) I understand their purpose.
And I mean proper UV, not a Macan, which has no rear seat space IF you manage to get inside through that tiny cut-out they call rear door.

That isn't saying much when Audi replaced their design department with a photocopier and BMW turned theirs over to a mob of psychotic axemen. Where are the designs of today that we will look back on 30 years hence as all-time greats like the classic Mercs (up to the W124), BMW E38/E39/E46, Aston Martin DB9 etc? They just aren't out there.
