I got to the second sentence - 'Walrus-rut, with tusks and bellowing and the blood of your rival plastered across your chest' - realised who must have written this and immediately gave up.
Whilst some people may enjoy Clarkson's tortured analogies, many more find it tiresome. More importantly, that is his style. When others ape it, it's tedious, painful and frankly embarrassing.
I know everyone tends to pile on when there's an article written by Cackett, but there's a reason: he writes like a 17 year old A level student who believes that cramming in as many 'big words' as he can makes for good writing.
I actually very much like to read Clarkson’s articles, but the mindbendingly thick surreal treacle presented by Mr. Cackett is usually far beyond my tolerances. Whilst some people may enjoy Clarkson's tortured analogies, many more find it tiresome. More importantly, that is his style. When others ape it, it's tedious, painful and frankly embarrassing.

Dear god not another piece of impossible-to-read twaddle.
Seriously PH, I’m sure few readers have nothing against NC personally but given the volume of negative comments after his articles about the writing style, surely you should sit up and take note? And ask him to amend his style maybe?

Don't like to criticize but must admit this article was hard going...
Difficult to say exactly why. I was really interested in the subject matter, but found myself skipping thru sentences and then paragraphs, bar the odd jarring similie or sentence.
Strange, as I don't find this with other writers....

I do hate to get on the band wagon. However, I really wanted to read about these two cars and the style of writing is truly awful. It seems as if the writer wants to show how clever he is, but sadly fails big time, rather than inform the readers about these the cars. Would anyone at PH who experienced these two cars be willing to rewrite the review without all the pomposity and pretentious nonsense.

Was/is the GTS an option for you or would it still have many of the negatives exhibited by the hybrid? It's certainly a fair chunk lighter.
Haven’t driven the GTS so hard to comment. I think it’s the hybrid weight though - the ‘normal’ Panamera is much better.Edited by gigglebug on Saturday 8th June 12:51

I've only had experience of the first generation Panamera myself so appreciate that things have moved on since then. Despite its general appearance it was a very good car to be in and would definitely be what I would go for if looking for that type of car from that period. Tim bo said:
