Where’d you hear all this?
Down the dog and gun?
“Actuators” - maybe you mean the variators other models suffer from issues with.
“Engine out for a clutch” - no, more like gearbox out (like most cars)
Checks profile, see's poster has a Gransport and the passive aggressive post becomes all too clear. Gotta love that fan boy passion.Down the dog and gun?

Thanks for the info though.

Yes, in sport it was faster, but it was still pretty unsophisticated. Perhaps it was just our ‘box, but I found it needed a small amount of revs help on the down change to be smooth.
Completely agree. I had a 4200CC for a few years: lovely engine but the gearbox was awful, whatever mode one used.Guvernator said:

But he's right it's all "pub talk" which is really best ignored and left to the experts to correct and educate the uneducated. Thanks for the info though.
On mine (under warranty) the throttle potentiometer (I think it's called) failed causing a suspension light to come on!
I had mine for 3 years, and the only other problem was the occasional warning light came on, resetting using the battery switch fixed it.
Fabulous car, fabulous noise and lot's of presence, really miss mine wish I could afford another MC Victory :-(

I think this is a good write up on the Gransport. I'd rather have boomerang lights and bonnet vents than sill extensions but the fact is the Gransport was a properly sorted car with perhaps its only weak point being the overly firm suspension in sport mode. Trouble is you have to drive the car in sport mode for the sharper gearchanges and open exhaust valves.
Where I disagree with the author is on values. Gransports had been rising a couple of k a year but have taken a tumble since peaking last year and have no doubt got further to fall in the current market judging by how long current stock has been in the classifieds. I think a low ownership well maintained example will be a great buy this time next year.
I think the Gransports problem is the AM Vantage. Gransports pretty much started to match the Aston's asking prices last year but many would agree the Aston also has character but is a more rounded machine with superior build quality. Put both on a ramp and have a look at the Aston's nicely engineered metalwork compared to the Maserati's rusty tin and crumbling subframe.
