I don’t think this one got the recognition it deserved. Not sure why this jape seemed to hit a raw nerve with some posters yet Sideways’ Berlingo story was lauded as the height of forum banter.
With these locking in a high gfv finance agreement is probably the way to go. Not all sources are quite as complementary on residuals as Auto Express.
I see you have drifted onto another Alpine thread, you are just a massive badge snob who has no interest in a well designed car, just the badge and residuals, you must be a right bore down the pub. With these locking in a high gfv finance agreement is probably the way to go. No offence to the journo's but I purchased the car that was right for me- Nobody else's view came into it. My money was down at Geneva before any road tests. I remember getting some stick on PH when I said I was not happy to complete without a test drive. Test drive confirmed my hopes.
After the event, however, I am pleased a certain Mr Gordon Murray purchased one as well - I'm sure he heard I'd purchased one...
On balance I think one Gordon Murray outweighs one James May (sorry James) so the car is still cool!

I really hope the Alpine isn’t another automotive example of the Emperor’s New Clothes.
You need not worry. It is as good as the reviews say it is. 7400 miles in for me and I’m still finding any excuse to use it. Performance is great and i haven't found the need for any more power on the road. It is so light that a push of the accelerator sees the car catapulted forward. It changes direction at the slightest input but manages to feel planted on bends rather than twitchy. It is a breath of fresh air in times of everything getting heavier- sportcars should not have to weigh 1500kg.glowing reviews don't come better than putting your hard earned money where your mouth is.
Dan is IMO, one of the best car reviewers in the business. easy to assume that journos get blasé about cars, because they get to drive them all. but to be able to own a car you love and never have to give it back is special. Congratulations and enjoy her in good health, Mr Prosser!

Saw a lovely blue one on the m4 this afternoon whilst on my way to Heathrow. Driver of my car assumed it was a kit car of some sort..... obviously I put him right.

There's no issue- nothing to stop you taking a photo of a car on the street. There might be an issue if you were to say "This is x's car and he lives at y" but otherwise no issue that I can see. Slightly different for Google as it is part of their business.
Nice colour
Good luck Dan. It's a lot of money on paper but you're clearly very very smitten with the car. When a motoring journo puts his own money into something like this I have nothing but respect. True petrolhead. Given the frequency of interesting drives you must have I find it inspiring that you would 'spend' this amount on your own car.
Well done, andmake sure you keep us updated on it
