They are lovely cars - a friend has a v8s
They do sit in a difficult place however - covering ground from cayman to 911. Much as I love them they are a tough sell at 911 money.
Presume there are good discounts ?
They sit for months before they sell usually, our dealership has had 4 of them sat outside for roughly a year and only recently did 1 of them sellThey do sit in a difficult place however - covering ground from cayman to 911. Much as I love them they are a tough sell at 911 money.

The irony of being a JLR employee and finding out the F type's getting a refresh via a forum.
Hopefully the refresh shaves a bit of weight out. If thats the new ingenium i6 the unfortunately its not gonna sound great.
Interesting attitude. I’d fire you.Hopefully the refresh shaves a bit of weight out. If thats the new ingenium i6 the unfortunately its not gonna sound great.

They are not really 911 money anymore with the launch of the 992 pushing that car further upmarket than ever. You can also get a decent discount on a Jag. Carwow will knock nearly 20% off an SVR. Try getting that off a 992 They do sit in a difficult place however - covering ground from cayman to 911. Much as I love them they are a tough sell at 911 money.

You say in the next post that you work for a dealer so you’re not really a JLR employee you are a retailer for the likes of Pendragon or other big dealer group. Why should they tell you anything until the new product arrives? If you were working at Whitley in the design centre I would be surprised. Even the production staff only find out late on in the day to minimise leaks Hopefully the refresh shaves a bit of weight out. If thats the new ingenium i6 the unfortunately its not gonna sound great.

If the F-Type forums are anything to go by, Jaguar have already quietened the current models. Apparently, there is a distinct difference in loudness and pops/bangs when a 2015 model (for example) is compared to a 2019 model. This applies to the V8 variants too!Hopefully the refresh shaves a bit of weight out. If thats the new ingenium i6 the unfortunately its not gonna sound great.
I’ll stick with my early V6S for the time being!
The front overhang is just, JUST bordering on being a little too long in profile. Doesn't sit with the stubbiness of the overall design of the rest of the vehicle. Which is a shame.
As fore the F-type/S2000 comparison....erm...yeah....no. They both have headlights and 4 wheels...and are cars. To that end it also looks like an MX-5!

It's about time they dropped that old V6.
Well the contract for Ford to build it is up so it's happening. Probably not as fast as it should be though. It's only available in a few RR models at the moment and not a single Jaguar. The new V8 has been talked about for years. They started testing their version of the BMW V8 back in 2017 at least but it's not even been officially announced yet, let alone found it's way into a production model.

Yet when they fitted a four pot diesel to the X Type they were slated for it. They're damned if they do and they're damned if they don't. You can please the critics or you can please the masses; Merc, Audi, and BMW are very keen to please the masses these days, which is why their sales are up even if their brand values are suffering. Whenever Jaguar does the same thing, we attack them for it.
What Jaguar needs to get the young is their version of an A class. Stick the 3.0 ingenious in it with a manual box, stick an SVO badge on it and make it sporty and offer some outlandish colours. It also needs coupe and convertible versions of the XE and XF.
The XE and XF are being merged into one model for the next generation. XJ will be electric only in year one starting next spring and then be joined by petrol hybrid. The pace cars are the issue. They just cannibalise sales from LR and the I Pace is a LR which was switched to being a Jaguar. For the F-type to succeed it needs to decide if it’s a Cayman or a 911 it can’t be both. If it’s a 911 then a smaller car to go against the Cayman etc
