Would Ferrari even touch that today? Where would it get serviced considering Enzo thought it was a monstrosity and remanded the Ferrari badges be taken off
Ferrari cannot dictate what cars are serviced at their dealers, they probably service Lamborghinis at some dealers.

Loved the competition evolution II but this not so much

Anyone know the 90s UK car mag that used to feature stuff like this?

this one is overpriced by £117-118k at least, even for someone who truly appreciates Koenig (not me though, I think standard 348 looks much better)
Updated, but still relevant.

I think the price is insane, but I'll be honest, I like it. I'd get the wheels re-done, something a touch lower offset so they sit in the arches a bit more pleasingly, and then just take it to shows purely to park on the Ferrari Owners Club stand and let them all look at it with utter dismay.

I'm far from keen on any fezzas but this looks properly 90's whether I like it or not is another story.

BTW Sr Enzo Ferrari would not have demanded the prancing horses to be removed from this particular car,as he'd been dead for 2 years before this was built.

And please stop using the word fezza.

I remember when that came up for auction and was really tempted by it - I think it is stunning (if not necessarily pretty) and at that price seems decent value for money. am sure it sounds insane and is interesting to drive ...

The twin-turbo 348 that Matt Farah drove - see youtube: The 610 WHP Twin-Turbo, Flamespitting Ferrari 348 Challenge - seemed like a much better bet than this. It seemed an absolutely awesome car (and is a Challenge) and, according to Farah, just sold for about $150k.

I think it looks very cool, but does not look right in the UK. Wonder how it drives. That car should be living near the Med or blasting through a California desert.

Top Wheels magazine from the mid to late '80s had a Koenig obsession as well. Wish I'd kept my copies but most of them got pulled apart and blu-tacked to my bedroom walls, alongside pictures of Christie Brinkley.

I like Koenig's creations. Very brash 80's looking and usually monstrous power. When I was 17 I would have loved it. These days the original 348 styling has grown on me, so i'd take a more standard looking 348 but with the Koenig's engine..

Still, it's nice to see something a little different and less clinical than most current supercars.

Shame it's just the body conversion without the twin-turbos.

Top Car was another publication which featured Koenig's.

As someone has already mentioned, I loved the Competition Evolution but this not so much.

In Top Car or World Sports Cars (can't remember now) they had an article on an early version of this car. A red twin turbo 600bhp 348 with the gold 5 spokes, lowered, bigger exhausts, maybe some subtle skirts, and plexi-glass engine cover to show off the red engine top. As I remember it, it looked absolutely fantastic. Also didn't have the garish interior of the Testerossa based cars.
