All car companies have stillborn projects in their history.

I was told by my Lotus dealer that the Evija is using the Rimac chassis (just like that Pininfarina Battista). And it would make a lot of sense if you think about it.

I think this is unlikely, i know Williams worked on the EV drive train. Lotus being a chassis specialist makes no sense really for them to use the chassis from the Rimac. I would be more convinced on them yusing the chassis from the Nio since that is also a chinese car.

They built 8 concept ones and a couple concept s.

Even two is two more than lotus

I don't see lotus teaming with rimac where rimac has strong ties with other companies

Ignore rockin - he's a long term troll who has appeared on Lotus threads for decades.

Of all the car projects he chose to reference, I've no idea why he picked that one - there are many more recent models that never made it to production.

This on the other hand could be quite interesting.

... come up with a realistic new sports car.

We must all hope this new project marks a step along the way and isn't just another piece of vapour ware added to a very long list..

The Concept Two might be delivered before the Lotus and they’re planning a much bigger production run of them. There’s also the Pininfarina Battista and Nio EP9 that have already been revealed.

The Lotus might well be a great car but I think they’ve missed the boat on being the first.

Pure electric apart from the turbo v8?
Good point! hehe

If you flip the model lettering, it reads ‘alive’!

Got to see a sneak preview of the Evija at Goodwood yesterday. It's being marketed as Britain's first fully electric hyper car.

As for looks, I'm guessing it will still change but it's general profile comes across more race car like (eg. Valkyrie, Pagani) than something curvy like a P1, 918, Veyron.

Still, more palatable wordplay than the Subaru “Levorg”....

The Etna does seem a very random choice. I'd have plumped for the M250.

That's odd - my holding deposit on one of the "promised but never got made" Lotus vapour cars was returned in full.
