Almost 14,000 were hit with £100 fines for illegally modified number plates.
So a nice little money-spinner for the Rozzers.

No photo but I regularly see a Range Rover around these parts with TH15 TWT on the plate - why on earth you'd want to advertise the fact I have no idea but it makes me cringe every time I see it.

Oi Oi. Dissin’ this lovely county.

I have actually seen T4 RTS on a van in Brum before. Must have been on a day trip from Essex.

I believe the fines go to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) so there is little incentive for Police to enforce it, particularly.

I'm sure that cameras will soon be utilised for this purpose.

H1 X HO - Jaguar S Type.

D14LVA - Mercedes SLC.
TW0 5ONS - Mercedes, crap spacing on the front only, so they must know it's dodgy.

SA51TA R - Toyota people carrier.

L77 S GO - Black cab.

If anyone lives near the northern side of the Huntingdon ring road, please go and take a pic of a bastardised plate which reads V HOT MUM which is on a car at a house on that very strip of tarmac. Couldn’t get a pic myself unfortunately …

Trying to work out how it’s made up. A mixture of black screwheads and dodgy characters.

Indeed.

The article reflects the number of FPNs issued though and not the actual number of offences committed, and very probably Essex's criminal underworld is keeping the county's BiB fully occupied with rather more pressing matters than that of illegal number plates.

Still, the article suggested there's points on the way for illegal plates as well as a fine - which is excellent news.

Subcontract detection out to a private company and watch the fines roll in and points stack up. smile

One from the dashcam, unsurprisingly in Leeds. To make it even better PU51EE U is a Golf S (basic model) dressed up to look like a Golf R, just tragic.

Local one whilst i was out for a walk.

S4 YWO spaced as S4YWO (rear) & S4Y WO (front) on a Clio Renaultsport. Bonus points for the throwback '90's bold italic font.

One from AutoTrader, found whilst i was car browsing earlier - VW10 UDX
