They also came up with the quote below that would have been perfect for the, long defunct for a few years, Cringe thread when it existed

Always fun whenever this one comes up Link below from the last time it appeared on another thread - evidently only ever used "off road", only put on "for pics" then taken off again before driving it https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

When I see others with personal plates, it tells me first and foremost that they clearly love cars / their car and have made the effort to go one step beyond a day to day driver - it makes them stand out as interesting, something different, a passionate car drive or owner. I would even go as far to say that I therefore believe they may be a better driver, a more engaging and interesting person maybe?
Yes I agree those that butcher alter and mis represent plates look silly, and get the wrong attention. But that's entirely different to simply having a personal plate.

I had the pleasure of following, presumably a happy customer of Pimlico Plumbers, plate read TA 53EWA I can only imagine it's supposed to be Thanks Sewer. It's miss spaced loveliness made all the nicer for being on one of those oversized S Type/Rover 75 rear plates yet fitted to an Audi Q7.
ALL personal plates look crappy to me, why bother? I've bought cars that had personal plates and just had them taken off, never found that I could actually sell any of the supposed personal plates that I had.
I still see quite a few Northern Irish registration plates on cars, just can't understand why you'd pay to have a number they give away in another part of the UK?
One of my cars still has a supposed personal plate on it, can't even remember what it is, although I can tell you the last 7 digits of the chassis number from memory (vital for ordering BMW parts).
I only actually remember one personal plate which was SPA 1 N, it was on a limo run by the Spanish embassy.
