True but it does steer better than both. And Mr Metcalf seems quite fond of it.

But I am an Elise /Exige man so can't say the Alpine or Cayman really hit the mark.
Like I say it depends on your needs. The Elise and Exige are hopeless as long distance holiday cars - too noisy and far less than half the luggage space even of the Alpine. I've dailied an Elise and its fine for shortish journeys but it's an unpleasant companion on the motorway. (I'm a fan too, but I recognise its limitations)
True and how much/what you are prepared to put up with. People on here seem to find it hard to lift their leg slightly higher to clear the sill for instance smile

I have just done a 1000 mile trip to the 'Ring in my S1 Elise with a straight cut 'box over 2 days. It was bloody loud and very hot but my God was it an awesome trip.

I did have earplugs but at times air con would have been nice! Still, the car continues to be totally reliable. Plenty of hard road and track miles and it just soaks it up and never fails to deliver.

Esteemed and experienced journo Henry Catchpole says the 718 GT4 and Spyder have tremendous steering with all the feel you want and wonderfully weighted too.

Still, the armchair experts who haven't even driven it as usual know best eh.

For me the 718T is the Porsche proposition of this moment.
