Has there ever been a car that's depreciated more per mile?
I make that an epic £1,501 per mile!
It is strong in the depreciation department but not quite that strong, more £150 per mile, which is, let's be honest, pretty incredible!I make that an epic £1,501 per mile!

Yes you’re quite right, my mistake.
Easily done. To be fair it hasn't turned into a sound initial investment all of a sudden with the re-calculation. Any car of mine running at just £1.21 / mile depreciation would have me crying into my cornflakes whilst drafting the ‘for sale’ ad.

All that power/torque and the current Mercedes A45s is still only 2 tenths of a second behind it to 60. It just proves that weight can be the enemy when it comes to performance.
I more I think about it...the more I want an A45s!
True, but for an E V12 0-60 is just for the kindergarten. I more I think about it...the more I want an A45s!
I imagine that an A45s would be lagging behind somewhat in a 180 - 230mph rolling race

An absolute eyesore thanks to those cowls, but undeniably a crazy piece of engineering. For the money I'd have something else, but you can't help admire the bonkers nature of it.
Looks like a development mule with all the weird covers and mismatched black on the outside. Besides the admiration fully agreed with above. If you look at the build number, it's obviously not something that will sell by the truckload, is it.
Incredibly niche is probably even a bit generous.
If I asked the question "what would YOU spend £150,000 on", I imagine there would be a ton of cool cars / bikes / planes / helicopters / hookers / blow suggestions. I personally wouldnt have this on my list at all, simply because of all the other things you could buy (or rent...) instead.
If you're an oligarch with your own mint, fill your boots though. Quite why you'd be spending time on a pissy UK website like this one though, is beyond me.

I agree with all of that, except for the last sentence. There are some very wealthy people on PH who could easily afford this car, and a lot, lot more. Flemke, for example, has a McLaren F1 and Senna and other cars, TooManyCars has, well, too many cars and they both spend time on this "pissy UK site"Incredibly niche is probably even a bit generous.

I remember being 15 or so when this come out and I used to always go on the Brabus website to see what the most powerful cars they had, I was shocked and amazed at the 800 bhp!
It’s crazy how a standard E63S is pushing 600 bhp standard with 660 lbft. From the factory with a much smaller engine, better economy (guessing) and much better reliability (also a guess but a fair one).
An E63s or M5 Competition is 100 bhp off this 600k new machine with a remap and exhaust, will be quicker and more usable.
Cars are progressing massively and this is a prime example. 10 years ago, it cost you 600 grand to have a 800 bhp E class. Today it costs you 70k for a delivery mile 600 bhp E63s/M5 Competition with a 3 year warranty and a 2019 interior. A remap and exhaust will comfortably take you past 700bhp for less than 5 grand, maybe less.
That Brabus will be up for sale for years, who remembers that CLS Brabus Rocket at 79,995, is it still for sale

I adore the Merc V12, but in terms of "making sense" or being particularly interesting engineering wise, When the V12TT unit can supposedly be fitted into a CLC coupe sized car I dunno why Brabus went through all the hassle to fit one to something barely smaller than a S Class?
A V12 CLC/C class coupe or SLK would have been more "WANT".

Here we go: https://www.motor-hub.co.uk/used-cars/mercedes-ben...Brabus cars have always been available and sold second hand over the years so to assume that this example is likely to suffer the same fate as the Rocket is naive.

I agree, I thought it was more a case of the vendor putting off any sane buyer or at least anyone caring to do a bit of research about them rather than the car.
Yeah. The Rocket has been the same price all the years it has been for sale at it's current vendor, I'm sure that if they really wanted/needed to sell it they could have dropped the price a long time ago to get rid of it. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
