I love how bonkers the car/idea is but I don't see how at almost £40k it's suggested as a safe investment. It's top end price already.
The equivalent 5s are much much higher than that, though that's largely because of their competition pedigree, and they were built in smaller numbers (I think).I agree, though, as a driver's car it's much worse than a lot of mid engined coupes that you can buy at half that price.

Moktabe what mods did you carry out on your PH1? Interested as i have a PH1.
Suspension wise KW V3 coilovers set quite firm, that improved it vastly. Then fitted Cromodora wheels which improved it again due to less unsprung weight. Finally had a full geo set up which again improved it.With that set up virtually all body roll was eliminated and it gripped very well, then fitted Yokohama A052 semi slicks and dry grip is wonderful, it's a well used car as opposed to a garage queen and have driven it with the Yokohamas on in some atrocious weather and survived .
With owning one you'll know how not to drive it in the wet.

Funny back in the day when the Clio 172/182 was about they were considered to be not much better than the 2 litre coupled with some odd handling traits.
And now we wear rose tinted glasses they are commanding this sort of money. I wouldn't have bought one when they were £15k never mind £20k or £40k
They may not have been much quicker and handling may have been a little unpredictable in certain conditions, but having owned Clio 172's and a Clio V6, it was the Clio V6 that was an overall better driving experience. It was far more than the sum of its parts and there felt like a sense of occasion every single time i went out in it. And now we wear rose tinted glasses they are commanding this sort of money. I wouldn't have bought one when they were £15k never mind £20k or £40k
If i had the money, I wouldn't buy this one at 40k as i'd want to drive the thing and not worry about the miles being put on it

I sold my <1,200 mile V6 a few weeks back, lived without it for 2 or 3 weeks and then went and bought a ~44k car to 'use'.
Wonderful things, which you need to own to understand, IMHO. Mine were both Phase 1 cars as I prefer the looks and the madness.
V6 prices are very sensitive to mileage and colour. There are only 6 Phase 1 cars left in Iliad blue, for example, but loads in Phase 2.
This one seems a pretty good deal to someone who has bought and sold recently but the colour isn't to everyone's taste.
Will they continue to appreciate? Who knows. But what other car is definitively more 'special' in that price bracket or for a lot less?

The engine’s power was upped from 230hp to 255hp - more cowsmuck figures from a manufacturer, a mk2 one owner from new struggled to get 228 on the rollers went back to Renault and they said "it is what it is"
Great car, yes dated but has anyone tried to revers park one, crap steering lock more a 7 point turn to park but still love em.

Is that a 924 Carrera GT/GTS? Low miles and £40k? Found one here: https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1139250MikeGoodwin said:

They said that at £20k, and £25k, and £30k.I was offered a decent Ph1 for £9k once upon a time, decided it was too risky for such an impractical car!
Also funny to think that a bunch of us use to abuse these on an airfield in Devon every few months, we had 7 or 8 lined up once along with the 172s.
