I'm 99% sure you're confusing the earlier eGT (bland jelly mould with a strong 150bhp engine, and supposedly entertaining handling), with the next generation GT (featured here), which was a bit bigger, heavier and softer. That generally didn't go down so well I think.

Maybe I'm mis-remembering.
I recently sold an eGT model and have driven them both on track (this silver car is my other one), the suspension was much firmer on the earlier version (P10), performance is the same, the earlier one needed even more revs to make it go. Here is the other one at Brands hatch.

No, I think you're right.

I had a P10 2.0SLXi

Only 130bhp, but that bullet proof twin-cam and a nicely weighted gear change meant it was a delight to drive.

Especially as it was full minicab spec in flat white with plastic wheel trims.

The earlier ones were fully independent all 4 corners. Plus the early models had the high port engine which was 160-170BHP. Later model like shed had a multi link rear beam setup and the low port SR20DE. Shed had a much shorter ratio gearbox though to make them basically the same. A good comparison would be EP3 to FN2 Type-R.

Quoted from the text of the article; "Gearbox oil needs to be checked every now and then. If the level isn’t right, getting into top or reverse will gradually become more difficult."

I wonder if any of the current or former Primera owners posting here have experienced this.

I'm on my second Primera. Both year 2000 P11-144 1.8 S. The first was on 100,000 miles when I sold it and the gear change was very smooth.

The current one only has 50,000 miles. It is better in every respect than the first ( overall condition, fewer owners, service history) except for the gear change. It's a bit notchy overall and getting into reverse can often be a struggle. Not always though, sometimes it goes in fine.

I've changed the gearbox oil, making sure the spec. and level was correct as per the manual. I've adjusted the clutch linkage from the pedal to the master cylinder. I've replaced the clutch fluid, making sure to bleed it correctly from both bleed points. It has not made any difference.

Sorry, but you sir have no idea what you are saying.

Not the quickest - particularly by today's standards - but such a great drive. Look nothing, drive great and to my mind the ultimate Q-car.
I have had 2 previous gen P10 in my past. First one a 4 door eZX second a five door eGT. Sadly missed......
Apologies, I was a bit crude. Essentially, I don't like Jap car styling at all. German cars have pretty much ruined everything else for me...

I seem to remember a spoof Body & Doyle Professionals advert for this?

By the sounds of it, it might be a good fun car on the track, the advert only mentions it about 5 times so I could be wrong!

Hi Rallycross.

I bought this Primera, I’m guessing from the guy who bought from you.
I see it has Bilstien shocks on the back, can you give any more insight to the springs used?
Hoping to get this on track sometime this year and goes well with my GT saloon that I’ve had since new.
