Hi all, it was my car. Just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone for their comments and messages about the car.

Very glad it's gone to a good home! Thanks for being such a great guy to deal with!

I sincerely hope that the car serves you well mate!

I like the car but we get this similar suggestion every year about gearing up for winter with some cheap winter hack like we're a nation of people who cant get about perfectly normally in most conditions with the hack weve already got on the road so apparently we have to go and tax insure and run another car for 3/4 months. your average 2wd car is more than capable of "making it through " much of what britains weather will throw at us. i dont get it this non-bandwagon.

So don't get another car, just enjoy reading the article, simple really. I didnt feel compelled to do anything more.

My reason for buying had nowt to do with winter mobility.
It was so I don't have to drive my van all the time especially if my 2 seater can't fill in

Example. I've just been visiting my dad in hospital. It's a ball ache to park most of the time so won't take my 2 seater. Therefore I've done the 40 mile round trip everyday,14 days consecutively so far in my van. No probs really but I'd rather not for various reasons.

Today I took my new runaround and of course got a 'good' space lol

Anyway can't have too many toys

500 miles in now
Sat nav working with full postcode search. Didn’t know it even had it.
Reset trip 200 miles back. Showing 28.5 driving round Lincolnshire today.
Drives great. I do think it’s sagging at the rear. See pic above. It’s not unheard so I need to address that. And as mentioned it’s a bit smelly when stood so definitely need to fit a new catalyst

Laptop/tablet/phone probably got launched through a window in a fit of rage accompanied by an expletive laden rant.

Probably still muttering to himself now that we're all b*st*rds etc.

I've run a wagon as a daily for the last 5 years. Can't see me ever selling it. Looking for a JDM tbSTI or S402 next.

Nice, that's very similar to my driveway, a silver 3.0r Spec B tourer and a red edition 30. Rare to see a 09 registration.

Looks a good buy, congratulations. Get yourself on UKLegacy forum, a great knowledgable bunch on there.

Nice motor milu. Looks very smart. I may not have been happy paying the fuel bills but I'd happily own and drive that.

These are st beyond belief, Spec B included. Get a BMW and have something decent.

I caned one of these the other day in my old 3 Series - saw him in my mirror understeering off the road and down a ditch.

The Subaru Legacy is a superb car, whatever the haters say. This is an early facelift with auto unfortunately, I really think these cars are best driven in manual and I am lucky enough to have one of the last of the facelifts in manual (< 17 in the country apparently).

The roads are awash with soulless white good cars nowadays and its good to be a rebel and not amongst the flock of sheep. These cars sound mighty fine also.

I suggest you go drive one - in snow, I suspect you are another having a bash at a Subaru without having a clue about their driving dynamics, there is no comparison between driving one of these in winter and a run of the mill car without AWD, in winter tyres the Subaru would leave it behind without even trying. I have one with all season and have been driving in snow for the last few winters and my biggest issue is avoiding all the other cars on the road unable to drive along tbh.

the only thing bizarrre is BMWs getting spooked by a Subaru.

Its good to see the OP enyoying the Subaru and he will get far more useful support on some other website and not here, this place is sometimes a sad excuse for a motoring forum unfortunately

Nevertheless it is still a pleasure to see Eric visiting here when he could tear himself away from a Subaru love-fest - even if it was to support the gutless 3.0 Legacy. laugh
