I quite like the colour, but I’m really not a fan of the price! Jeez.
I wonder what the discounts will be like on these?
Probably slim if any at all as I expect the demand will match if not exceed the supply.I wonder what the discounts will be like on these?
There was zilch to be had on the Focus RS when it came out and to be fair that pretty much stayed true with the RRP going upwards, think I only saw pre-reg cars being softened for sale.
The price once you accept inflation isn't that bad....says the guy waiting on a 330e build that booked at £46k to turn up!

Someone already pointed that out. And the (entirely accurate) reply was that this generation of Fiesta looks like a C Max.It really is a dull as ditchwater piece of styling. Even the colour can't save it from blandness. It wouldn't get my money; I haven't liked the steering on any of the recent Fords I've driven, and the looks put me off finding out whether they fixed it for this one.

And it's in a terrible colour that no-one will ever buy.
No one? Really?blade7 said:
With less power than the Ford approved Mountune Fiesta ST or ST200.
But a limited-slip diff, adjustable dampers, lighter wheels and a much, much, much better interior. I would wager that this car would be faster round a track than a Mountune MK7.spikyone said:

Just keeping up with the tradition I guess. Did you ever see the giant bonnet gap on the mk3 Focus's that were big enough to get half of your hand in with the bonnet fully closed? Ford QC is non-existent.
You must have one of those Jeremy Beadle hands...Escort Si-130 said:

Wrap the rear window in the same colour and add a ‘British Telecom’ logo...
Specsavers I think you need to pay a visit. The BT van colour of the 70's/80's were "yellow" way complete different shade. I miss those days. I also like the British Telecom logo back then.

The reason there are a lot of Fiesta STs on the road is that we (in Britain, collectively) buy a lot of hot hatches, and a lot of Ford Fiestas. It doesn't change the fact that the styling of this generation - and most of Ford's other current designs - is incredibly boring and derivative, and its proportions resemble a small MPV.

Not over keen on the Orange, kind of says "Plant Hire" to me, seen worse but I think half the point with these special editions is to make it obvious that it isnt the run of the mill model, and people will pay for that, a Red Focus RS, anyone who knows their cars knows its a special edition, same as with a grey previous gen Fiesta ST, even if the colour isnt that great, people will pay to have something different.
I had a late facelift ST (last shape) and loved it as a small hot hatch.
I thought the steering was very good. And the standard halogen lights.
I didn’t look at the interior much as I was always driving it. But I didn’t mind it.
Had this been a 4 pot with 220bhp/240bhp overboost with a ls diff, 4dr, and the same steering as the old one, I’d have genuinely been tempted.
But it’s not. So I’m not.

Thought as much - just seems an awful lot of money. I’ve got a 1.0l 125hp ST-Line as a daily and personally I think it’s great. I’m not sure there’s much in the B segment that is better looking than the Fiesta, and immediately you feel that Ford still bother to tune their dynamics for people who actually enjoy driving.
I’d be interested to know what else people would suggest buying instead of this....

There are. I think they look bloody awful, but plenty of other people obviously don't.The reason there are a lot of Fiesta STs on the road is that we (in Britain, collectively) buy a lot of hot hatches, and a lot of Ford Fiestas. We do buy a lot of hot hatches and a lot of Fiestas, but I suspect there could be a reason for that, couldn't there? I don't think people would be buying them if they thought they looked awful, as they certainly aren't the cheapest B-segment car on the market. As for the proportions, that's a simple result of the requirements of aerodynamics and interior space, which is why most hatchbacks now use a very similar shape. You don't have to like it of course, but plenty of other people do. I don't really know what people expect. They've added some subtle skirts and spoilers, so it looks smarter than a regular Fiesta. If car companies go mad, as Honda did with the Type-R, they get slated by some for making the car look chavvy, if they stay conservative, they get slated by others for being boring. They're damned either way.

You can buy one with four doors and a diff. Does it matter how many cylinders it has?I thought the steering was very good. And the standard halogen lights.

I think the big issue is, what else is there in this segment? The 208 GTI is gone, as is the R.S. Clio. The Polo GTI is auto only and not a match for the Fiesta by all account, while the MINI seems to divide plenty of opinion. It's not exactly a thriving segment currently. The Fiesta is the only one I would buy. Hopefully the i20 N will liven things up a bit too.
The colour's lovely in the flesh, definitely the one to go for, as I'm really disappointed with the standard colours available (very strange for Ford actually) the blue especially is so drab.
I do like these but overall still think the previous version looks slightly better. Unfortunately haven't had a go in either yet
