Have you ever done this before and it's worked? I'm not a powerfully built company director like some on this forum so cant go down the intimidation route ??
I’m not talking about intimidation, I was more thinking trying to talk to him in a sensible fashion. But judging by some of your replies on here, it seems you may struggle with that a tad.

If the coppers don’t want to get involved and you want to resolve it, one of your only sensible options is to try talking to him. Try not to be condescending etc. It may get through, it may not.
Not at all- I'm sorry if I gave off that impression- unfortunately some of the trolls bring out the worst in me!

I'm all up for it but based on his driving and general attitude my worry is I'd be met with 'none of your business' and 'it's a free country' type- responses. I may be stereotyping but this is based on a few factors, and also previous experience with similar characters unfortunately. I'm not trying to make excuses, I'm just concerned anything I do won't make the slightest bit of difference.

That's what I thought until someone used a pavement today to get around a road closure. There's nothing an asshole driver won't do

There’s a big chance it will have no impact; the guy sounds like a massive chopper. On the other hand, at least you will have tried. You never know he may well feel a bit silly for being a dick...a long shot no doubt.

Well, not always the case. My young cousin saw one of her uni friends get killed by a speeding driver fleeing police when he mounted the kerb..

I'm not sure if you're thick or a rubbish troll. Kids are unpredictable and if the parents turn their heads for a second they may run into the road, this is why schools have 20 zones.

People don't hang about in the middle of the road, if somebody is crossing slowly you should be able to stop, hence 20 around school.

Point three I can only assume you've never actually left your house (mum's basement?), you normally see cars on the pavement many times each day, normally they're parked and empy, but tell me, how did they get there?

The main issue here is he's going 40+ past a school, what if a kid runs out, what chance has he got of stopping? Factoring in reaction time and brakes on a 20 year old car.

We all like driving fast, a nice twisty B road for example is ok. I hope I can speak for us all when I say people who speed in built up areas are complete tts.

Is it possible to narrow the road, or will that just add to the challenge?

It seems to work round here.

Cars used to park on one side of the road with wheels just on the pavement.

Loonies drove too fast, so the cars came off the pavement.

Now the cars are staggered on each side of the road and you can't go much above 15mph.

Next time he blasts towards you down the road, throw a toy doll out onto the road between parked cars. When he squashes it under screeching tyres and stops to realise he may or may not have just mowed down a small child, have a word with him then and explain the consequences of his actions.
Then bum his dog

Video it, post the video on the local Police, newspaper and council facebook pages and ask them publicly to deal with it. Keep asking for updates till something is done. Shame them into dealing with it.
Mention the Stevenage carnage, over egg it a bit.

Ask the school to speak to the police

Lots you can do
Good suggestions to which I would add gather support from neighbours and contact the school governors.

Unfortunately fast cars, and car forums attract the kind of selfish chav bell-end that will eventually ruin it for those of us with the sense to keep our enthusiasm for driving out of the public eye and on a nice twistie b road.
We've just had our village and many of the surrounding ones changed to a 20 limit and huge metal speed bumps plastered all over. Rather than blame the council or the "local busy bodies" I place the blame entirely with the tts who couldn't control themselves for the couple of minutes it takes to pass through at a reasonable speed.

So you're telling me you wouldn't feel exactly the same about some pillock doing twice the speed limit past a primary school every day?
Nope.

3. Cars don't drive on pavements.
And what about when someone crosses the road and misjudges the speed of the car? Or said car loses control at a high speed and ploughs into someone?.. Actually, you know what, it's fairly obvious you're either trolling, trying to get some kind of reaction, or you're actually the pr*ck in the integra. And going off your previous posts you probably need to hand your licence back to whichever cereal company sold you the packet.

I used to go to a car meet at a small village called Ashby Folville in Leicester. It was full of car enthusiasts and bikes and everyone had a great time and wander around looking at all the different things. There was a massive cross-section of vehicles from wartime jeeps to Aston Martins, TVR’s etc. This happened for a few years until the local chav tossers in corsa’s bmw etc decided to come along. It lasted a year after that before it got banned. people racing up and down the village street at stupid speeds all put a stop to it. Thanks you s !!!

I'm sorry, but when discussing the danger outside schools, people don't seem to realise that it is impossible to speed past a school when the children are NOT safely locked away in class, due the vast amount of cars parked up badly and blocking the road. Outside of drop off an pick up, there are no children in the road.

We have a mobile camera van spot outside our local school and the only time he can catch anyone speeding is very early on a weekend, when the school is shut. Yet the camera is there, because its dangerous for kids to cross the road between the badly parked cars during school drop off and pick up times.

I'll try these next I think. I managed to get in touch with our local PCSO who caught 7 people in an hour with the speed gun the other week. He did say he'd try and have a word with repeat offenders if I could provide details so I gave him the reg number but no update since. Because we're near the river and there's some parks around there's always people with prams, dogs, kids on bikes etc, and having spoken to a couple of neighbours they're all as sick of the general speeding issue as I am, so I'll see if i can get some support that way as well.

It is a wide road where we are, but there are speed bumps anyway- not full width ones though. Saying that, even when it does get narrower due to parked cars, people don't seem to mind risking their wing mirrors trying to break the land speed record before the end of the road...
