C8 rs6 = complete fail, like I was expecting.
This car has nothing on f90 m5 and e63s, bmw/merc beat audi at their on game. Laughable....

If I buy a car like this I absolutely don't care about laser headlights, and all other BS, all I want to do is to go sideways, it's the 1# priority!
Well firstly, I think it has a number on the M5 because the M5 is saloon only.... Secondly, what doesn't it have on the Merc?
2wd, R20 wheels, more power&torque

I think this is meant to be around 605bhp, I'm sure that is noticeably slower than the 612bhp offered by the Mercedes. I don't know how Audi will live with themselves hehe

To be fair I also don't care about HP war.
2wd is bugging me the most.

Did you expect an RS Audi to be RWD? They don't exactly have a history of it to be fair. I can't see why that would bug you unless you were expecting them to release a RWD version? And if you were expecting it, may I ask why?

That is actually a good question, surely what should be annoying is the fact that both Merc and BMW have gone AWD when they never used to be. Yes you can disconnect it and have RWD but you are still saddled with the extra weight of the AWD system, if anything Audi are the only ones who have stuck to their design philosophy so any owners of previous generations are hopefully getting more of the same but improved.

Anyway the most interesting thing for me is the RWS, I am interested to read about how that has affected the handling.

Why did they make the front so nice and the rear so ugly? I mean, the rear is the thing most other drivers will see anyway, so whats with the rear bumper looking like it came out of a Halfords ram-raid?

Whatever next. Maybe three ton cars with 1000bhp. Something to look forward to laugh
Soon halfway there, the Panamera ST Turbo S Hybrid (not sure I got that right) is 2,5 tonnes, 680hp and rumoured to get over 800hp soon and not much hopes it being lighter...
It will need it!

Ridiculous. Must be fatter than a Range Rover.

Wow... well over two tons now. Loads of tacky tat glued on. Yet lots of praise here. I guess Audi know their market!

I prefer old school Audi, where the fast versions merely had a small badge.

Agreed,...I think perhaps my instinctive reaction that this 'looks pretty good' says a lot about the way everything else is going; compared to a lot of other new stuff I do like the look of this (in a daft, AMG GT-R sort of way) but my personal choice would always be a Q car, especially if it's an estate. Love the C5 RS6 and C6 S6 for that reason.

No one complaining about engine placement over the front axle, no 2wd setting.

All they care is the styling....
You expect a 2WD setting in an Audi? While trying to position yourself as the technical connoisseur of the thread? Intriguing...

Ordered.

Option requested:

Helmet (ready for the baseball bat over the head in the middle of the night).

Best option when living in Solihull, anything with S,RS will go missing at some point (personal experience)

yep, fantastic car for crime - my local post office got raided with guys with a machette - they hacked the owners arm off then jumped into an rs6 and drove off never to be caught but only got £10k

Purple one looks alright but the one on the home page of the article looks gash.
WTF is going on with that rear valance?

And all these angles and slashes? Really?
Audi, step away from the straight edge!

Not for me frown

Nice, apart from the satin silver trim everywhere, especially the rear bumper/diffuser - how did that get signed off!?

As impressive as this car is, for some inexplicable reason it leaves me cold.

Monstrous. Love it inside and out. My ultimate daily bruiser. That interior looks like something from the future.

Not inclined to read through several pages of what I imagine is loads of complaining about weight, understeer and turbos wink

Reserved for council dwellers and other chavs. That and the rear end are awful. Not a fan, and thankfully I have zero need for an estate car so I will never be buying one of these. I am sure Audi are gutted hehe

Can someone explain what is going on with German manufacturers' badging please.

For the last forever, BMW model badge on the right, Audi model badge on the right, Mercedes model badge on the left.

Now it seems anything goes. It started with the Z4M which inexplicably had the M badge on the left, now Mercedes suddenly has C63 on the left and AMG on the right, the opposite of how is has always been. Now this RS6 appears to have the RS6 badges on the left.

What is going on? Is it some kind of feng shui for Asian markets? It looks sloppy, random, and ignores decades of history.
Nearly two decades old, badge on the left:

RS2 was the same
My S3’s badge is on the left, infact pretty much every Audi i googled has model designation on the left…

Merc and bmw ask the buyers what they want. They don’t listen to internet critics so much. The number one request from M5 and E63 owners was....AWD.
