A bit off topic, bit what is it with Peugeot and Synchro issues... Years ago..

1 x 231351 2/3 gear synchrohub
2 x 231351 locknuts
1 x 973358 Gear Oil

Took 2 hours roughly to fit with the box in place. (BE1/BE3)

I sold so many of these almost 30 years ago, the partnos will never be forgotten!

Get an annual rental car insurance excess policy from a 3rd party specialist for about £50
Most of these will only cover you for rentals you obtain direct from a car rental company and where CDW etc is included. I doubt they would cover some convoluted arrangement where a dealership is in the middle.

May I ask if you have any recommendations?

A good friend of mine flies and hires in Scotland quite regularly, so if I can save her some money on CDW and all that extra cost, that would be ace.
I've used questor a few times and insurance4carhire a few times more recently due to them having a higher car value covered (something like upto £120k vs £50k more normally - but be careful some budget policies are only £20k so would actually exclude a lot of cars). There are some tips and some discount codes on moneysavingexpert worth having a look at if you're planning on taking out a policy
Thank you very much for the recommendation and advice - it seems remarkably easy to spec a car to £20k+ nowadays, so it would seem wise to take care with budget policies!

As someone who once worked for Peugeot customer care, if you kick up enough of a fuss by going to MD level and being persistent they should be able to cover it
