First thing to pop into my mind - odd styling? And these weren’t rallied in motorsports?
Suppose they wanted to modernise the looks...

I think if I was going to spend serious money on an Evo, I would try and seek out an 7 RS Sprint.
I had a 6 RS Sprint, number 5 of 12 built. Amazing car!!!

That's the one I'm keeping my eye for. As a current 6 owner, the 9 GT is the only one I'd replace the 6 with.

I like the X but i get the feeling a lot of work needed to get it up to previous models levels for handling?

I agree. None of the Evo's after the Makinen era really hold much interest for me.

Only ever seen one on the road once, looked ace! I always wanted an Evo 9 GT, look stunning too especially back then.

Well the platform and engine were 20 years old by then.

After reading this article yesterday I happened to maybe see this car on my way into work in Wakefield this morning. Checked just now where the dealer is based and yep, Wakefield, so I am pretty sure that it is this car that's for sale due to the rarity stated in the article. Was stopped at the lights trying to get round Kirkgate roundabout (which is now a task in itself with all the lights). Maybe a few more miles on for any perspective buyer if the dealer is using it until it's sold.

Not sure about the platform but wasn't it a completely new engine in the Evo X?

These things were all about performance and yet no mention of 0-60. Lazy editorial.
I've never seen any figures for the 440. I almost bought one new but the price was a bit steep. I guess they aren't holding value the way it was expected.

Hi, what would make you pick a 7RS Sprint?

Sad that Mitsubishi can't seem to make any interesting cars nowadays. Think back a few years and they had the baby zz Kei car, the 3000GT, Starion, Sigma, and my favourite, the FTO. Now we have boring electric soft roaders and nothing else.

It was actually a newly built engine for this platform, 4B11T as apposed to 4G63

I’d keep hold of the VI, if it’s a good un. Long term, the early cars will be the desirable models - true rally lineage.

This is the battle I have all the time. It is a good un ( I think). It had a re spray 2 years ago (stone chips can't be helped), heavily under sealed and gets a ceramic coat over the body every 2 years. Only does about 2-3 k a year now and that's mostly just summer driving. BUT. I've had it well over a decade now and it is a 20 yrs old car. Still well under 100k on the clock but things can't last for ever....

Hi,

It just ticks all my boxes, lightweight, no toys, its my favourite shape and it is rare.

I might be in the minority but technology ruins cars for me, I like the raw driving experience. No abs, no stability management etc etc just 3 pedals, a steering wheel and all the control being with me.

not a great car.

Exactly this.

I recall these got destroyed around a track by a r35..

The evo would understeer, which was very un'evo'like...
