I just had my little VW Up! in for an MOT yesterday, passed but one advisory is as follows -
•Nearside Rear Child Seat fitted not allowing full inspection of adult belt ()
I don't have a child....or a child seat. Any ideas? something to do with seatbelts? No idea!
Sounds like a mistake. Did you not query it with the tester before leaving the garage?•Nearside Rear Child Seat fitted not allowing full inspection of adult belt ()

Track car question - my Clio has no interior trim, fixed bucket seats, no airbags, 5 point harnesses. Mechanically it’s fine as it still has the original engine/exhaust and emissions are all good but will the interior mods cause issues? If so, how do I ensure that it will pass in its current state?
You will struggle with no airbags. Fixed seats are fine as are the belts. To ensure a pass, re-fit the bags!5harp3y said:

I doubt it will pass if you’ve removed the airbags. Not sure tbh
ive had cars pass with an aftermarket (non airbag) wheelThe main issue isn't the airbags to be honest, they can be refitted easily enough I suppose but removing the original seats causes the airbag light to come on and I'm not sure there's a workaround.
Hmmmm.
Hey Athlon , fellow MoT tester here (only done it for a little under 2yrs), good idea for a thread, I think!
I'm sure someone has posted this before, but here's a link to the MoT inspection manual - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-inspection-manual-...

Exactly why I was asking!

The air bag warning lamp not illuminating will only be an advise. Just saying.........The main issue isn't the airbags to be honest, they can be refitted easily enough I suppose but removing the original seats causes the airbag light to come on and I'm not sure there's a workaround.

Very odd. I may have had a large bag on the rear seat. My only other thought but guess this wouldn't make sense either.

Advise.I'm not sure if this is law, but my father in law has two MOT lanes that are used for MOTs ONLY. They have a different four post lift with shaker plates compared to the single post, or two post lifts in the other bays. The brake rollers, and emissions testing kit is on the drive up to it too. I would imagine to do MOTs it needs to be an MOT lane.
Or they won't want to do repairs on a lift that will be in use for most of the day earning them good money with MOTs.
