Sad that this is the swansong of fast petrol jags - unobtanium for most that won’t ever slip into attainable territory ala XJR XFR etc.

As far as I’m aware there are now no big cylinder petrol jags left new?

The optional track pack has 2 x buckets and half roll cage so no back seats.

This one had 4. The front seats in the 4 door version are excellent and part of the attraction IMO is that it seats 4.

Here is mine.

IMO - where this went wrong is the price...way too much

Everything about the car is absolutely top drawer and in 4 seat form, completely without equal ... but the price...

Without equal? M5C?

TX.
Look at the Ring times. The P8 has proper bespoke engineering

On the road the M5C will equal it in performance but not on a track ... then there is the M5 looks like a Turkish taxi ...

To me this sums up where JLR lost their way.

As a one off show car it’s a great demonstration of Jaguar’s ability but who thought that actually making a small batch at £150k was even remotely commercially viable?

But it is so exciting and interesting that I’m absolutely super glad they made it. I thought they were all sold?

God I would love one of these.

That’s a statement I’ve never made about a Jaguar ever before. I hope that it makes others feel the same because that “want” factor is what drives brands like Porsche forwards and that’s sorely lacking at Jaguar at the moment. F Type is good but there are lots of alternatives. Project 8 is two fingers up to everyone next level cool as far as I’m concerned. Hats off to you gents who have already got one. Absolutely fantastic!!!

Lovely car, much better without the Halfords rear wing which ruins the whole thing. I just can't imagine why Jag decided to only offer it in LHD. Seems madness to me.

it is an interesting car, but not 150k interesting. Not even close. No wonder they struggle to sell a couple hundred.

I'll be up for one of those when it's deprecated down to about £45k, approx a year after launch?

I wonder how different this would feel to my 650hp XFR-S, which was £30k.

And is sublime BTW

Looks are, of course, subjective.

Definitely something not quite right with those rear arches.

I think everybody on this thread is struggling to come to terms with the price tag. When you consider that the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio comes in at £65K and the figures are not far off: 3.9 sec to 60 compared to the Jag's 3.7 and a 191 top end compared to the Jag's 186, it shows how much performance you're really getting from the Alfa. Yes, the Jag is much more than this overall but is it really worth almost £100K more?

The price is steep but I suspect this is basically a racing car with a squishy interior. That means that the suspension and drivetrain will be littered with outrageously expensive engineering that gives adjustability and repeatability unlike a normal road car. That’s why this would most likely destroy an M5 or QV around a track.

I’m sure one of the owners can enlighten us a bit more on this?

I suspect that if this car was based off the refreshed XE, the remaining few would be snapped up. It's a bit strange to have this on sale when the refreshed XE is out there now.

Precisely my thoughts. Overrated and overpriced. The UK press love to ignore the elephant in the room too, when banging on about this car.

7:35 ring time for the M5C and 7:21 for the P8 ... No doubt you will tell me that is a sound thrashing over what 13 miles.

Fair enough comment re a taxi though!

TX.

Edit - PS I love the Jag, if it wasn't LHD and so expensive I'd have one in a heartbeat.

Was about to post this very sentiment. I've got an 18 month hunt for something special (for me) for my 50th and this baisically just put the Alfa back on the list. Loved my XFR but price/LHD make this redundant.
