Is this then the next instalment in the 348, 355, 360, 430, 458, 488 lineage ?
This is not The Greatest car in the World, no.
This is just a Tributo.

I see what you did there.
I love it, it looks great and would probably unbelievable to drive. I've always loved the idea of super cars, and particularly loved Ferrari's they do excite me, but something performance orientated from Germany or Japan from 15/20 years ago would be more of an interest to me than a modern supercar.... Until I drove a McLaren 570GT this past weekend and still can't get over how good it was to drive, and that's the 'entry level' McLaren.

Nicest looking new Ferrari I’ve seen in a long time.
Looks just like the 488 and the 458. Although they do have previous with evolutionary design...308, 328, 288Imo this is a weak performance from Ferrari, bashing out a new car that's not really new and doing so in a way that hurts their existing customers.

It's a V8 with a turbo on each bank so it was bound to have two exhausts. I'm guessing you meant four exhaust exits but that's a completely different thing and would make little to no difference to the performance or sound (the latter will be sorted by Novitec et al). It would just be showing off - I'm pleased they've had the balls to just use two (as they did with the 488 and Pista) when the roads are awash with 4 cylinder hatchbacks with four outputs ...
I'm sure the aftermarket will sell four exit exhausts for people with insecurity issues
I like the 4 exhaust exits on the earlier cars, e.g. 308 to 430. Perhaps I am just old-fashioned (and apparently insecure!).I'm sure the aftermarket will sell four exit exhausts for people with insecurity issues
I think the author is spot on when speculating why does this car exist at all ? It does feel like a bit of an "in-between" stop gap model, until a more radical hybrid hits the market.
As such, I think they have done a pretty good job.
And, as demand for these sorts of cars still seems to outstrip supply, I don't think residuals on any of the recent models are going to be particularly badly affected - the 458 certainly held up well when the 488 came out and, from what I can tell, all the models seem to hold their value better than, say, a Maclaren...

I haven't seen an F8 yet but have seen the Pista and in the flesh it does look quite a lot sharper than the 488 version at the front; you don't have to look twice either ( though it was only doing 2mph in a traffic jam waiting for 300 children to cross the road) .
So I would guess this will look great in the flesh too. The back end with the twin tail lights definitely looks better.

Yeah, the Ferrari is great to drive, whereas the Maclaren is just a bit buggy by comparison. Genuine question - I just don't know what this means.
Dan, you should compare it to the car you bought, the Alpine.
I am sure Ferrari is great, but that is 200k and for only a select few (most of whom will be trust fund kids one way or the other, old money).
What would be interesting is to read about how it compares to driver cars that people not born with the silver spoon in their mouths can buy, like Alpine.
(I am not jealous, it anyone thinks of writing a stupid retort like that.)
