It's a Alfa Giulia.
Fair one it would look a bit stupid on the bonnet.

Nice car btw, I always liked the look of those.

I've seen them on the bonnet of caterhams, I can't say I thought it looked stupid. But I guess it's a personal taste thing.

What car is it btw?
It's a Alfa Giulia.
Err nowhere to put a plate you say? Is it a 105?

Believe it or not, they drive better than they look.

Most Ferrari 458 I have seen don’t have a front plate anywhere , yet seem to get away with it
They can afford to pay the £100 fine so don’t give a toss. As would I if I could afford a Ferrari 458 because it just ruins the looks of one of the most beautiful cars made IMHO.

As we seem to be saturated by ANPR stuff these days, so why not eliminate number plates altogether, and enable the vehicles to transmit their reg details to any device capable of picking up the signal, your mobile for example. Would certainly help for 'hit and run' accidents, my car was bumped in Sainsbury's a few weeks ago, £200 to fix the bumper and reflector, and other occasions. I seem to remember a proposal for this a while ago.

The few I see seem manage it, but some people are a bit special.

I don't understand why you'd remove it. They are almost invisible.

Come on. Nobody can seriously say on here that car looks ok with the front plate or worse without it.

... I guess the fact that my car looks like it shouldn't have a plate on the front, as there is no place designed in by the manufacturer, means a blind eye is turned in most cases...
That makes no sense, there absolutely is a place for the registration plate on the front bumper on a 3 series that was designed by the manufacturer. Mine has always had a plate in the exact space it is supposed to be, by design.

Edit: I see you are talking about a different car than your profile. Our Alfa has a number plate holder off set to right as you face it, can't say it has ever bothered me?

"Deleting" a number plate is an odd way to say remove.
"Deleting" the numberplate makes your car look so much better than "stock". hehe
Yep, it's the bellends that use the word 'stock' in the place of 'standard' that are the ones most likely to 'delete' something important like a front number plate.

Sheeple.
Either that or get "4D plates" which doesn't apparently refer to a time travelling ability, but ones with letters that stick out.

I really need to leave that Golf R facebook group. hehe

Fitted aftermarket by the dealer network.
Alfa supply the car without plate or plinth. Leaving it up to the customer.

I really don’t get the obsession with messing around with number plates. Private plates, mis-spaced plates, removed plates, smoked plates, it’s all pathetic. They’re a legal requirement, not a fashion statement. Use the reg the car came with in the legal format and stop being an attention seeking moron.

Seriously, why the need to personalise such a thing? Is your life that empty and your desire for someone to look at you that strong? Get a grip.

And to the inevitable chav tts who will be along with the “the world would be a dull place if everyone did everything the same” argument, my rebuttal remains the same. It’s. A. Number plate. Grow up.

Guy I know has one. I said to him, dont you need a front number plate.? He replied, no.

I said, are you sure, I m sure its illegal?. Oh, yes I know it's illegal, I just dont need one he replied.

I dont think a fine would bother him to be honest.
Was it an expensive private registration? As repeated offences will have him reported to the DVLA and the registration number revoked.

Aside from this however, this attitude does annoy me and it seems to be quite common on Ferraris, McLarens and Lamborghinis. “I know it’s illegal but the fine is small change so why do I care?”

I’m all for personal choice, but within the realms of the law.

Displaying a front number plate showing the prescribed font and spacing is a legal requirement.

The sooner the law is changed to make this an endorsable offence the better in my opinion.

Assuming the car was UK supplied, no they don't.
It has to be UK compliant and it will be supplied with a relevant mounting bracket.
The dealer has to fit a front plate.

The dealer isn't fitting one to mine prior to collection tomorrow. it'll be in the boot, as requested.

That said, I am taking my own and will fit them prior to departure.

Only because I want to stick, not drill, but they agreed.

I almost always pull over cars I see without front plates. It’s generally done to avoid detection by ANPR, or to look cool. It’s surprising how many things this leads onto.

I can't imagine it's THAT surprising, to be honest.

But I really don't understand being blatantly stupid with things like number plates, especially if you're in some manner up to no good.
