so to those blaming both... i suppose if the civic was replaced with a pedestrian and a similar fracas took placed where the biker clipped the pedestrian because the pedestrian was giving the biker the middle finger for arguments sake.... youd be saying they were both to blame still? sod off. that crash/attempted manslaughter as a minimum was the civic drivers fault. you can debate the ins and outs of the racing all day long but what caused this was the unhinged not backing down twunt behind the wheel of the civic. cant believe he just yanked the wheel over and whack the guy. pity the biker didnt have mates following to sit on the driver until the police arrived - racing or no racing thats just not in the rules......

its not an easy watch when you see the impact about to happen. i hope that driver gets nailed.
One might be a bigger dick than the other but they are still both dicks.

If the Civic was replaced with a pedestrian, their still both dicks for getting into it in the first place.

No matter how dodgy the car driver, it seems easy to avoid accidents with them.
Once agin, the bikes riding was poor. Things I saw.....
1) speeding
2) poor lane discipline.
3) filtering past people who have just overtaken him and presumably will travel faster than him.
4) I’ll add deciding to overtake while just after a junction.

But his driving around the car approaching the collision wasn’t that bad?
He hung back, didn’t linger in a blind spot
Gave plenty of room
Was passing quickly / decisively (Mixed bag this one as the closing speed was too high).

The act of the driver is a threat to any overtaking vehicle ever?

Thanks Jasey,

That confirms that both the biker and car driver are dheads.

I've had a fair few boy racers "beat" me on my bike. The guy on the bike should have just let the car driver get on with it.

That's one for the council thread I think. Also hayabusa is absolute council. (disclaimer, a mk1 hayabusa is a likely replacment for my 9R at some point).

But what if you replaced the bike with a hot air balloon and the car with a train??

Too much testosterone. It's a ring road rather than Road America, no prizes for coming first. The whole thing was the coming together of two numpties. Hopefully if either feel the weight of the law they both will, to some degree.
oh i must have missed that part of the clip where the biker drifted across to meet the civic as it drifted across.....

It’s hard to do up, but which one deliberately swerves into the path of the other to cause an accident and then flees the scene?

Can’t wait for the picture of the driver.... if he’s ever identified after leaving the scene of the accident he deliberately caused..... still, if he looks respectable we’ll let him off....

If you are going to play what ifs- what if they had not collided with each other, but one of them had lost control while racing and killed an innocent third party? They would be jointly responsible for the death, and that possibility is why they are both aholes.

The other morning I had to slam my brakes on to avoid a motorcyclist filtering to the front of a queue coming from the opposite direction. He seemed to give zero fks that he was on the wrong side of a relatively narrow stretch of road. Being a normal human being I chose to brake and avoid him, rather than ram the tt off the road. Tutted to myself and got on with my day.

Yes the ‘busa rider comes across as a tosser (and rides like one too) but we don’t live in some Mad Max type post apocalyptic world. No excuse for the Civic drivers actions, that sort of unhinged person should not be allowed behind the wheel.

When 2 tw*ts meet!

I had some sympathy for the Civic driver to begin with, but pulling out into the bike was way out of order. redcard

Although when I was riding bikes I was always conscious that if there was a coming together with a car it was always going to hurt me more, so I rode accordingly!

But I often wonder at the mentality of moped/125 riders. rolleyes
