Bike v Car in a crash, there can only be one winner.

You should always ride defensively, and treat EVERY car driver as if he is out to kill you.

Biker for fifty years and still here to tell the tale.

Blame shared equally (imo). Car driver was a tt though.

Regardless of driving there is no fking excuse of trying to knock someone off a bike.

The potential to kill them is way too high.

st riding

Legitimately outrageous block by the car.

It can't be a Hayabusa must be an inside joke. You're not going to race old civics on a superbike.
A diesel Civic outruns a superbike, both apparently trying. Something is wrong here.

I don't think he set out to knock him off his bike.

It was only the last few seconds the biker started to accelerate hard and I'm not sure the Civic driver realised.

I know nothing about bikes but I know of the Busa, it's legendary.

So many things don't add up here. That Civic didn't look particularly slow off the line, and it's a 2.2 diesel (if the plate has been read correctly). And a 'busa didn't leave it going backwards within a couple of seconds once it got moving? Did they trade engines somewhere along the way?

There’s no way the Hayabusa was trying until the last few seconds - then look what happened.
The Civic looked fast off the line but only due to the burnout, and the fact the Busa rider couldn’t be bothered racing at first. For some reason he changed his mind though. Bet he now wishes he didn’t.

My mate had a Civic 2.2 cdti and it couldn’t even keep up with my little Clio so there’s nothing weird going on here.

Anybody that races on that road is asking for trouble, it’s a busy road with a lot happening inc trams and various junctions, filter lanes etc. The biker put himself in that position. Anyone that wheel spins off from lights needs a wide berth and not raced

Why do people post up vids that are about 95% too long?

That little effort could have been conveyed it 30secs without all the preceding guff.

As for the rider...well its what happens when you dick about racing with like minded dicks.

Take your medicine son and stop whinging.

To be fair, in a video like this, had he only posted the actual collision, many would be asking, "so what went on before?"

In this video, a bit of the earlier footage helps with the context, though I agree that's not always the case and it can be very tedious sometimes smile

If that were the case, I'd have expected the Civic driver to stop at the scene. The driver may claim he panicked and fled (lack of insurance, under the influence etc.), but it could also be the case of deliberately taking the rider out and then taking off.

I'm sorry but launching even a 400 properly and you wouldn't see which way it went vs a Civic. VTEC yo or not.

If it was a 'Busa he was probably riding it in the wrong gear and/or just not opening the throttle. Possibly one of the "bought a 200mph bike...never taken it over 4k club" wink

Equally, if you filter to the front. Take off or fk off. If you're being beaten by a car off the line then you're too slow and in this case he should maybe take the hint from the wheel spin and smoke off the line...

I thought that the motorbike was an AR50 or similar because it looked so slow. I can't believe that it is a Hayabusa. I remember having a bit of fun with a ZX-6R in my Cerbera and it absolutely destroyed me for speed.

The little Honda Jazz to the left beat the Civic for the first few seconds driving normally because the Civic was just spinning it's wheels. biggrin

The civic driver was definitely an out of control maniac, wouldn't surprise me if it was stolen or the driven was drunk/on drugs (or both)

Anyway, the biker wasn't trying at all until right at the end of the video when he decided to teach the civic driver a lesson. Which failed miserably.

Comment at the end of the post about his bike getting destroyed "again", makes me think the biker has form.

The Civic driver was clearly in the wrong, but the biker spidey senses would have had me hanging miles back from the weapon in the civic.

Unstoppable force, meets immovable object, when two throbbers collide.

Racing bikes requires a particular set of skills.

You need to be aware of their increased vulnerability and acceleration; and decreased stability and braking.
You need to give them more space and be aware of where they are at all times.

This was 2 people who don't know how to drive/ride well enough to be doing this, meeting. Luckily the biker is OK.

Poor riding - bit of a throbber
Disgraceful driving - stolen / drugs? Terrifying to think these people are on the roads with us.
