In the international military drifting and stadium-cross championships, it may well struggle.

That's what it's for, right?

I don’t think anybody’s sure what it’s for if I’m being honest?

Its an F150 covered in tactical tinsel.
Not even an F-150... The Ranger is smaller than an F-series hence is not available with proper engines.

You may laugh, but what if the British army encountered the Taliban or IS at a junction and lost a traffic light grand prix?
I suppose the critical test would be whether it's faster than a Hilux with ten guys with RPGs in the back?

On the flip-side, it could be that the Ranger is designed for the real world of commercial vehicles in the rest of the world, rather than for folk who carry handguns to church and marry their sisters laugh

Hired Rangers and L200s have long since replaced the 110 as utility vehicles within the UK. The Dutch use a matt green Amorok that looks similar to this. Ultimately it will do what's required. No ballistic protection needed though, its things like Foxhound from now on if there is a kinetic threat.
Indeed the Amarok has replaced the long used G wagons, the Dutch special forces however use the Defenture.
Also in use by the Dutch and German military are Bushmasters and Fenneks.

The Defenure tested by JWW:

I doubt it will be faster than an RPG

if you look above in this thread, the dutch military developed the Defenture, which is a £350K vehicle; this pricing is not unusual in military vehicles...

in case you missed the link for the dutch version:
