I believe it's sold, but there's another one on the DSG forum and Facebook page: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/droopsnootgroup/sp...

The ebay one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-SPORTS-HATCH-D...

RS2000 nose come was altogether more of a looker.
Well, he'd had a bit of practice by then. The first few prototype nosecones for the Firenza don't look as good as the final one, though some of the design ideas looked much better but were rejected as being too costly - the version commonly referred to as "Daytona" looked particularly nice, but would have needed new wings and a new bonnet, and there was no money for it. By the time he got to Ford to consult on the RS2000, he* could correct the things that hadn't gone so well on the Vauxhall one.

( * You're probably going to ask "who?", and I can't remember. Worked at Vauxhall on the HP Firenza project, then consulted for Ford while the RS2000 was being developed. )

It's tough, as Vauxhall is the turd of the car world. No one actively wants to own a Vauxhall. Those who do, I don't want to meet.

VX220 - great, but not really a Vauxhall
Monaro - great, but not really a Vauxhall
Lotus Carlton - great, a Vauxhall, but one that is only better as another company sorted it.

Far too many stters in Vauxhalls past and present. It's motoring, but nothing else. Only diamonds in the rough are ones that have had intervention from other brands.
What an idiotic post.

Black magic chevette too, I liked that one

As a apprentice vauxhall tech in the early 80's, and my first car was a 1800 magnum coupe with a droop snoot body kit I'd go for.....

HSR chevette
Mk 1 Astra GTE
Opel Monza GSI

Had a Bitter conversion in once, that was nice

If I had to own three Vauxhalls I would genuinely try to burn my own eyes out with a gas lighter.

Completely. Same as the idiots saying they would shoot themselves. It's a bloody car! Trying to be funny without being funny.

I’ve always been a Vauxhall fan and would struggle to get it down to three! Under consideration would be:

- Lotus Carlton
- Cavalier Turbo (original and non-Barried)
- Nova GSi (ditto)
- Senator 3.0i 24v
- FD VX4/90
- FE Ventora
- FD Ventora Black Prince
- VXR8
- PC Viscount

A Senator 24v would be no hardship, especially if it had the Irmscher 4.0 stroker.

Omega V6 estate would be OK as a general smoker/tip run barge.

VXR8 estate, Maloo ute...

As an aside, why is there no Vauxhall sub-forum on PH?

A Mokka TURBO
A Grandland TURBO

Errr no, these are utter ste bought by morons (often with the help of Motability) but Vauxhall have in the past made some great drivers cars, a few of which I’ve owned or driven.

My 3 would include

Chevette HSR
Astra 16v redtop (cosworth designed head)
Manta 400 or Ascona 400

Other ones to mention:

Droopsnoot Firenza

Vx220 turbo, some small mods gives you 280 bhp at which point these go like a rocket.

Calibra 16v series 1

Nova Sport 1.3 with twin carbs in rally spec

Omega 3.2 V6 for towing the racing car.

My post is true though. Vauxhalls are st. Always have been and probably always will be.

Name me a Vauxhall you'd want to buy that hasn't had help from another company.

Come on.

Right, thanks. That's a Chevette that wasn't really supposed to be a Vauxhall but was and a Nova. I'm sold.. There's several Peugeots, RenaultSports and Fords I'd already be through before I even looked at a Nova.

Well I would certainly by the new Insignia grand sport and Astra VXR, both fine cars.

Still, if you don't like Vauxhalls, there's plenty on here that do.
